It is grey and soggy here so I have shamelessly spent my morning in bed reading. Filthy winds and rain yesterday and the rest of OH's barn roof has come down, bringing some of the wall with it. No going out for me today except to say hello to the chooks and pick some cavolo nero for tomorrow's Italian beany soup.
We have several parcels due for delivery @Lizzie27. Hope they all arrive smoothly and the last of yours too. I take it you don't read while knitting @Dovefromabove. Any good films on? Never really fancied Tiffin @Liriodendron or kurling. Hope you enjoy your carol service @Busy-Lizzie.

I am writng a Christmas Quiz for my family over the ‘holiday’. Rather than tie people to doing a Zoom or video quiz, I will email the questions over on Christmas Eve and they can have a go at them before I reveal the answers on Boxing Day. The rounds include: Christmas-themed questions, anagrams, odd-one-out/only connect, guess the song with emojis, and complete the cracker joke. I may share some over Xmas on here if you fancy?
Hard luck re the extra damage to the barn, @Obelixx. Sounds as if you have some serious decisions to make regarding which of your barns to restore... don't suppose your plans for the future included building a gite, nor some of the other expensive solutions. Could you incorporate a romantic ruin into your garden plans? Or do you need your barns for storage or work areas?
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Managed to do a tiny bit of gardening yesterday (planted up a trough in the polytunnel with some oriental greens for later in the winter). Baking today - I made bread, OH made mince pies - and a long, soggy dog walk. Just had roast chicken for dinner and am thinking of getting the sewing machine out to do a few clothing repairs. Or I may just watch a film. This will be my last week working before Christmas, I hope. It's been a bonkers year on the work front. There's a rose blooming by the front door. Not just one flower - there are 4 on there and they are opening. Have a good week all

Lots of lazy Sunday activity on here, quite right too at this time of the year. I wish I had time to join you on the sofa. 😅
Christmas lunches went really well, lots of positive feedback, which is nice. I do make it overly complicated for myself, not just sprouts ( which I finally found - phew), sprouts with pancetta, not just parsnips, parmesan baked parsnips, not just carrots, caramelized carrots, you get the idea.. I can't seem to do just ordinary. 🙄😁 The Bailey's cheesecake, which I managed to get a leftover slice of was delicious too. I put Christmas crackers in with the takeaway boxes and little miniature chocolate presents and the messages of appreciation made it worth all the effort. People are being so good supporting CdeG, I thought they deserved a little surprise. Last hurdle this week to get all the cakes ordered decorated, then I've got about 100 cupcakes to do and quite a few mince pies to finish yet. The end is in sight though and the Christmas Tree is up. I had to send Charlie up the ladder to help decorate it though, it was bigger than expected! 😱 Anyway, I've got a nice glass of red wine in hand and will enjoy what little is left of the evening with Inspector Rebus. Good evening all. 😘

Very pretty tree @D0rdogne_Damsel ... and that lad of yours grows a bit more each time we see him 😎 ‘Not just sprouts’ eh? Are you related to M&S by any chance ? 😂
Hope your back eases soon @punkdoc ... have a muscle relaxant 🥃 😉

Just catching up on the threads , night everybody. Had my first mince pie of the season today. Sounds like most had weather-appropriate indoors days === @D0rdogne_Damsel well done re the meals ( and @Dovefromabove I thought the same re the m&s the way DD expressed it with the not just sprouts etc )
Morning everyone. Still no rain here, but we have predictions of rain for the next week. I’m getting the washing done this morning in case I can get it done and back in today before the wet stuff falls. Here’s hoping. 😃
Good morning all ☕️ we had heavy rain over night but now the morning is quite bright. Fingers crossed that @punkdoc and others with aches and pains or any who are feeling poorly will have a better day today, and that @Pat E ‘s washing is dry 😊
OH has a shorter day today and I have stuff to do in the studio and some knitting to sew up, so we’ll have a quick supper of pasta carbonara and a green salad this evening.
I s’pose I’d better get up ...

Still crippled with my back, the only consolation is that the weather is so bad, I don't really want to be anywhere but my bed.
