Ping them over to us @Obelixx - we seem to be eating quite a lot just now. Nice problem to have though The curry sounds like it should be good, although I struggle with chickpeas. Maybe more oompf needed, spice wise? They do improve with age though, don't they. I don't think I could persuade my two though. I like using squash for soups but they do need a fair bit of flavour adding to them.

The skip has arrived. It's bigger than the one I ordered, not one mentioned on the website, and the man said I can put everything I want in it as it's a general rubbish one, but not gas, inflammables such as white spirit and petrol, or paint. It's just what I wanted, no need to go to the tip as well A couple are coming to help tomorrow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
It should have been good but wasn't @Fairygirl and certainly wasn't short of heat from the ginger and chillies. Sourness from the tamarind. Needed more umami I think. Trouble is, it was a large-ish Crown Prince so double quantities. We like chickpeas, butter beans, kidney beans, cannellini beans, black-eyed peas etcetera.

It's the texture for me @Obelixx . I don't really like beans of any kind. I think it's a throwback to my youth when my mum used to give us those tinned white butterbeans. Just vile

Was the squash roasted first? ... I always find that helps with developing the flavour; and as with most curries, it’llprobably be better the next day anyway 😉
Tonight’s supper will be a “traybake” of squash, red onion and pear topped with slices of halloumi ... we’ll have it with grilled cheesy polenta wedges.

Yes @Dovefromabove - slathered with the tamarind mix and then roasted 45 mins. I've been busy making the onion frittata and tasted a chunk of the squash just to see if it had improved. No. Still lacking depth. Never mind. OH eats anything.
Thin day here so tonight's dinner will be wholemeal penne and a simple fresh tomato and basil sauce tho I may throw in some chilli and/or lemon juice to brighten it.
@Fairygirl I love butter beans tho I can't find proper ones here in tins and none dried. Found some of both in Namur tho when I was moving Possum. Have you tried mashed butter beans? or butter bean soup with leeks and basil? or butter beans baked with beetroot and finished with a gratin of cheese and breadcrumbs?

I do hope your daughter is ok @Fairygirl, you never stop worrying about them do you. I always add plenty of Cumin in my pumpkin soup which is just about ready to be blitzed. I can eat most types of beans but not chickpeas as they are too high in Hystamine for me. I have also looked for butter beans here @Obelixx but none so far. They will be on the list when we can have visitors again.
