Why is it, that when you are down, everything just seems to get worse?
Yesterday Moiras car broke down and then we lost internet access, so she could not work. She doesn't get paid if she can't work.
Today the central heating [ + hot water ] broke, nice man came... needs a new fan..... earliest Tuesday. It's bloody cold!

    Oh flippin ‘echium   @punkdoc 🤗 ☕️ ☕️ 🥃 🥃

I think we should all adopt that as a suitable expletive. Very fitting!

That is a quadruple whammy of bad there Punk (at least). The broken heating is a major kick in the ‘echiums. How ironic that a fan is what is needed. Hope you have alternative warmth.

Well I have just had a cheeky afternoon snooze - marvellous. I hope all ok with everyone else -  have a good weekend.

Love the thought of your dog trying to herd your chickens Obelixx.  Daughter tried walking her cat this afternoon on the lead but he got spooked by something and dashed back to the house, pulling her after him. Gardening good for 'black dog' syndrome @Yviestevie, at the moment I don't seem to have much energy. I fall out of love with my garden at this time of year and don't want to do much outside.
We went for a walk around our big local park, just for an hour's exercise, quite busy and nobody seemed to have much spatial awareness.
That is bad luck @Punkdoc, hope you do have some alternate heating until Tuesday. No hot water is a bit of a b----r too.
Thanks for OH's birthday wishes. The birthday boy has got his buckets of soil, water and safety glasses all ready, just waiting till it gets dark - can't miss Strictly!

Cosmos is a 4 year old cat @Lizzie27 and utterly clueless about hunting.

That does sound like a lot to deal with in one go @punkdoc .  Do you not have a car she can borrow?  How long to get internet sorted?  Hope you have lots of chocolate!

Oh dear, @punkdoc, I do feel for you, especially about the heating, horrid being cold and miserable. One good thing, you have Moira's company.

Did more sorting of books this morning, hard backs this time. Rained this afternoon, did ironing, tipping down now.

About to cook a salmon steak, butternut and some fennel. Leclerc here always scrapes off the scales and I like the crispy skin. Wouldn't they do it if you ask them @Obelixx?

They do if I buy a whole fish @Busy-Lizzie but not if it's already filleted.   Same even in the fish markets.

Tonight's fish was Julienne which is ling - one of the cod family.  Lovely thick steaks and flaky flesh.

Our rain cleverly passed us by after the cloud system split in two which I shall henceforth call "doing a @floralies".
