The chimney sweep has been and the tractor mower has been delivered. It had repairs and a service. Lawns need it badly so that's what I'll be doing this afternoon. It's usually OH's job.
Nah - it was definitely a bit of grit @Fairygirl. I'd like to say that I haven't been called "lummox" before, but that would be a lie
When I was struggling for work in my 20s, I often ended up helping a mate selling Christmas trees. He's a landscape gardener but, at that time, needed to do it to see him through the winter. Standing outside all day for 3-4 weeks in December haggling with all and sundry and lugging those bleedin' trees around definitely wasn't a lovely job
@Fairygirl your not wrong!! Luckily being prepared for it is my default setting so waterproofs are always at the ready. Doesn't make it enjoyable though! But there are times I prefer it to the extreme heat! @Biglad i think that would be enough to kill off my festive cheer!! Hello 👋 @Busy-Lizzie Good luck with the lawn, sounds like the move preparations are keeping you busy! My cold is not a bad one luckily and I'm still able to function. Glad to be indoors today though!
Good morning everyone. Very tired yesterday so went to bed at 10:30 and slept thru till OH brought me juice and coffee at 9am. Wall to wall sunshine today so this pm I hope to get OH to help me plant more shrubs and small trees.
Don't forget to grate in some fresh ginger @WonkyWomble. Great for colds and the immune system.
Funnily enough @Pat E we rarely have any leftover belly pork but, when I do, I freeze it for later and then slice and grill it cos we love the hot, crispy fat.
@Fairygirl OH and I used to have riding lessons when we live in Harrow and part of the deal included BHS stable management classes and cleaning out stables in the depths of winter is heroic stuff. No wonder the stable girls were all so slim! I was too but from weight training in a nice clean gym.

I've applied online for a slot for my regular blood test and the GP practice. Veg for tonight (panroast S'wold cod, parsley sauce, cauli and creamy mash) is done. Towels in the washing machine. OH heading for W'rose for bits and bobs.
Now to prepare the garden for the tree man on Monday ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sounds like a beautiful day to be planting @Obelixx... after all, we have all had enough rain, the ground should be easier to dig! Thanks @Dovefromabove! Sat in the garden in the first patch of sun with coffee and shed cat. Listening to the birds on the feeders and convincing myself i want to do ironing for the next 4 hours or so.... its not really working 😕
@Pat E for some reason my laptop doesn’t like UTube videos so I had to wait until my phone had finished it’s updates to see it ... but yes, love that one 🤣
Growing up on a small holding showed you how to work in the rain eh @WonkyWomble? 😉 and two of the worst winters ever ⛄️

I hope your cold clears up quickly @WonkyWomble.
