Hello all, I have been reading about what you have been/are up to at the moment, such differing lives we all lead! That's what I love about this forum.
The fog is just clearing here and it promises to be a lovely sunny day. Went to the SM yesterday for the weekly shop, it was quite deserted so it was a nice leisurely shop. I'm still trying to find some garlic to plant but i think I have left it too late as GC has sold out and they don't know if or when they will have some more.
My passport is with the passport office in the UK, they wrote to tell me they wanted more money from me for shipping it back, I asked them if they were sending it by a private courier as I couldn't see anywhere on line that warrants the amount of money they wanted, I shall make a complaint when I receive my passport back.
I have been arguing with my mobile phone provider who have now cut me off!
Ho hum I shall forget the lot of them today and spend a pleasant day in the garden!
Have a good day all, catch up later.   B)

Oh @floralies - not a good start! Call them all the rude names you can think of. I can offer some more if you'd like...  ;)
I think he's a remarkable man @Dovefromabove. His fierce fighting spirit and determination not to let what happened, break him, is humbling and inspiring.  I caught the bird of paradise prog by accident when I woke in the middle of the night and it was on. Fantastic. Have some hankies at the ready  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Absolutely agree @fairygirl ... his acknowledgement of the horror of what happened to him, but his refusal to be beaten or embittered, and his continued determination to shine a light on the real people in the Middle East is a lesson to us all.  Remarkable ... a real hero of our time.  :)  OH says of him, 'it feels like he's the only real grown up left in the world'.

Morning all, agree with you Dove about Frank Gardner, a very inspiring man.

I'm just waiting for the fog to clear, which it's doing fast with the sunshine appearing, before I walk down to the shop for our morning paper. OH is going for his first physio appointment about his knee this morning, do hope they can suggest/do something about it as he's finding it very difficult to walk.

Just checked on the US news and Biden has just given a very presidential-to-be speech, looks like he might be winning.

DD, your lad is growing fast and could become very useful!

Morning all,  Just got back from Secondborn's.  Had a lovely meal out with her and the boys to celebrate her 40th last night.  I took the boys to school this morning and then drove home.  I'm back in the morning to look after Gabriel for the day.  Traffic was lighter than normal as many people are probably working at home.
Don't have any plans for today, it's beautiful out there but might not get any gardening done as I'm still aching from the other day. Might take a look at that prog @Fairygirl sounds like a good un.
Sorry to hear you are feeling down @D0rdogne_Damsel it's difficult to stay optimistic in the current climate.  Hope you feel better soon.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all.
After my yesterday morning's post Internet went.  Rang Orange and they said there was a major problem and all the surrounding villages had lost Internet. Glad it's back now. My mobile phone had even less signal than usual too, it's better this morning. Wonder if that was linked or just a coincidence.

Took several large bags of ancient paperbacks, mostly thrillers that belonged to my late OH to the recycling bin yesterday. Then swept up yet more leaves.

  • Thought I would just share this with you @Lizzie27, he is certainly growing - and he is needing to earn his keep, hollow leg syndrome at the moment, can't seem to fill him up, it's costing a fortune to feed him.  ;) Doesn't seem that long ago since he was this cute.

Sometimes I do wonder about the marvellous hi tech equipment we've become so reliant upon @Busy-Lizzie , great whilst it's working, but extremely frustrating when it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

I have a lot of admiration also for Frank Gardner, although I am not sure I'm emotionally stable enough to watch the program just at the moment, still relying on gardening to save my day.  ;)

I have been quite productive this morning regards work, I've set up a simple Takeaway Menu to be collected at limited times, all orders to be placed in advance. It's mainly things I have in the freezer already baked, simple cupcakes, muffins and scones and then a Fish and Chip Takeaway evening on Friday the 14th. Already had over 300€ worth of orders so feels like a worthwhile exercise. People have been very kind with their supportive comments. Oops tears again.  :'(:)
