    Too right @Fairygirl :D

Lugged it round the back without accident. Mixed with the last bit of horse manure and on the 'new' border it went. Planted the last 2 strawbs in there and will leave until next spring now.

I've been mowing the grass and the dratted reverse gear has given up on the tractor mower.

  • Afternoon all after a dry morning (we managed a short walk) it turned very wet this pm.  I was a t Capel yesterday though much of my time was spent trying to get their IT people to sort out my access pass as it has stopped working, they gave me a new one but it still doesn't work on the barrier I want to get through so I can park away from all those "virus risks" (known as students).

Evening all. Just catching up. I have a cheeky week off now. Did consider keeping it for a rainy day, so to speak, but we can’t have any leave in November as we are moving hospitals so I thought I’d enjoy some Autumn while it lasts.

Thought I'd vacuum up leaves on the kitchen terrace but the blower/vacuum thingy wouldn't work, only bought it last autumn. Swept them instead.

You're not doing well @Busy-Lizzie. I bought one of those traditional birch twig besoms last year because I find our blower so noisy but am not impressed.

Hope you have a nice week off @AuntyRach. I think my younger daughter is looking forward to her week off too.
Didn't get much done outdoors as it was pretty wet and windy, most of the afternoon. A bit of deadheading and 'looking' was about all. Too chilly to sit with Dave outside, so he got his tea on the back step and I sat in the kitchen with a cup of tea.
I've had to give in and put the heating on. Think we may be near a frost tonight, as it's only 5 degrees just now. Never made double figs today.
We have the first proper snow on the hills too. Bummer. I always enjoy those first snowy walks, although there now seems to be some debate about the travelling thing, so I don't know what to do. It appears to be more about mixing with people indoors etc.  :/
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Lovely to see @WonkyWomble today even if we were ‘socially distanced’. Her first s/e tax return has been sorted signed and sealed 👍. The idea was that I’d show her how to do it but that doesn’t work with social distancing ... hey ho, there’s always next year 😉

    I sincerely hope so @Dovefromabove.

Have done the weekly shop with detours - Super U to stock up on riso venere for me and for Possum cos Leclerc doesn't do it; fabric shop for 2 new frocks for Possum and finally Leclerc for the weekly stiff.  No spring onions!  Humph.

Since then I've been unpicking trouser hems cos I have 6 pairs that need taking in and don't want to make new ones till I hit target.

No leaf blower here, just OH with his mower or spring tined rake.   Works for me.

I expect doing a hill on your own would be OK @Fairygirl.
