    morning all.Ā
@chicky, when I went to Horticultural College 40 years ago, I was told that the active ingredient in rooting powder is acetone, same stuff as nail polish remover and the was "one part per million" and the rest was just talc.

    Morning all/afties @Pat E if you're looking in.
How frustrating @Allotment Boy. Was that the carrier that was at fault with the damaged goods?Ā
I've never used hormone rooting powder, but I do use peat based compost. The other stuff isn't good enough as far as I'm concernedĀ  :)
Murky and breezy here, but dry for the moment, and it's supposed to be mainly dry today. I like @Obelixx's pic. We only tend to notice if there isn't any wind hereĀ  ;)

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like it's Groundhog Day on some threads?Ā  :|

Mmm it’s that time of year @Fairygirl šŸ˜‰Ā

OH has remembered that the bean wigwam, squashes and courgettes need taking up ... it’s nearly all done. I’m taking advantage of a fine and breezy day to get the bedlinen laundered, and I must make some soup for lunch flasks this week. Then I’ll get the tulips and wallflowers sorted.Ā

  • @chicky When I did the RHS course our lecturer had to point out that he was teaching the syllabus not necessarily advocating what was being taught. The use of pesticides / Herbicides etc were valid alternatives that we needed to be aware of, but it was up to individuals whether to use them or not.Ā

Gets on my wick sometimesĀ @Dovefromabove. You feel like you're banging your head on a brick wall, and repeating yourself. I don't see the point of posting on threads if youĀ  aren't going to read what's already been written eitherĀ  :/
I took down some Morning Glories yesterday. They did ok but I think they would have been better in a bigger pot with more of them. I don't think my climate suits them, but they did quite well despite that. Beautiful colour, rich dark purple, so I'll do them again next year.Ā
My bedlinen's out too, but there's a lot of black clouds hanging about. Such is the way of it. I'll get a walk soon. I saw two stupid folk on bikes yesterday, one had a small child with no helmet on, perched on the front, and heading down to the main road. Oh - he had a helmet on, so that's ok then. Words fail me sometimes.Ā  :/
Old Eddie VH gone eh? Proper rockerĀ  ;) Johnny Nash too. Hard to believe he was 80.Ā

    Hello all.

Septic tank men have just been, inspecting for the buyers, working out how much it will all cost to update. I hope it doesn't make them back out, the 10 days after signing the Compromis aren't up yet. They've already had a reduction in price for it from me and the agent fees.

Forecast says there will be some sun but it's late, hasn't arrived yet.

Morning, (just)was going out, but doggy emergency, so waiting to go to the vet. Another lovelly sunny warm day, all the fleeces and throws got out of airing cupboard and washed (no, I didn;t put them away dirty, they smell "stale") Sam here allomentboy.Ā  Bought stand mixer last year Russell Hobbs,2 year warranty. Bottom of blender jug split. Rang told replacement within 5 days, rang again 2 weeks later. Bloke said none in stock, and that first bloke had written down incorrect part number, would check with Head Office, get back to me,, arrived next day, marked next day delivery, smashed to smithereens, and it's really thick glass.Rang again, girl, blender jug arrived next day, PLUS a whole new stand mixer. Marked on box didn't open it, rang asked for collection. Over a week later, return label, and letter, saying, thank you for telling us about your Food Processor (I don;t have one) they would inspect it and get back to me.Ā  All 3 sounded bored and were obviously reading script and not listening.Ā  Awaiting reply to my letter.
