Morning @punkdoc, hope the aches get better soon. A good book is a good way to take you're mind off them. I presume Monica working from home is a good thing? Or will she be keeping too close a check on you? 😅

Sunny here and calm but some interesting weather on the way tonight and for the weekend. We are just on the edge of the red and yellow zone above La Tranche. Best get some fresh air today while we can without being soaked tho the soil and plants will welcome the wet if not the winds.
Haven't seen any news about further outbreaks or lockdown here and everyone is wearing their masks when they should tho not all wear them well. Infection levels are still low in the Vendée but they are up in schools which is a worry with 2 weeks of half term coming up here in 10 days' time and grand-parents usually in charge while parents work.
I'm sure you could sell lots of cakes and scones to take out @D0rdogne_Damsel tho not so much the English breakfasts. Hope it works out OK.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Morning folks. It's sunny here so have just had our usual walk to get the morning paper. It's looking a bit stormy now to the west so perhaps Hosta's pushed his rain our way.
That's not good news @DOrdogne_Damsel, hope the outbreak dies down soon. We're still crossing our fingers, it's now the 8th day since we came back from holiday so I think we'll be okay.
That's a great idea @chicky and @Obelixx. Takeaway bakery if nothing else would surely go down well, especially if there's any restriction on travel unless for necessities. Cake is surely a necessity Not a brilliant forecast @Obelixx. The wet stuff is welcome for you, but wind is a different matter. We're getting a couple of days of respite before the next lot at the weekend. Looking to 'hill' tomorrow while I get the chance. That's better for both of you @punkdoc. Safer at least. Remember - Moira's working, not supplying you with tea, peeling grapes and mopping your forehead Is anyone going to listen to the John Lennon thing on R2 over the weekend? I'll probably record it. It sounds like it will be very interesting. I can't quite believe he would have been 80 this month.

The trailer for that is doing my head in " John Lennon's youngest son" they say. He only had 2, so one is his elder son , and the other is his younger son. Not YOUNGEST .
I was never good at grammar. Can't you still say - even in a list of 2 - that one is the oldest and one is the youngest? Wouldn't you ask that question - ie 'which (of Peter or Paul) is the oldest and which is the youngest?'? Fine, if comparing one to the other, one is older and one is younger but isn't one still oldest and one youngest?
No wonder people have problems with English - and they're/their/there mainly English like me.....
I can't say that bothers me too much @Hostafan1 , and I can be a pedant with the best of 'em. All I'm going to say is that they announced the death of Nicholas Lyndhurst's son today. His only child. Why do horrible things happen to nice people? He has always seemed to be a lovely man. Heartbreaking for him and his wife.
