@Lizzie27, that's another thing that's put me off getting a Smart phone, the weight.

I cut down the tree saplings/suckers around the pool outlet. It has been mild outside, not raining, heating has turned itself off. I found some quite nice apples on a tree so picked them and ate one. Usually the hornets and birds have had them all by now. The apples were horrid last month, small and dry because of the drought. Maybe that put the wildlife off. The rain has done them good.
Also sorted more papers, threw away old bills and cleaned more pictures.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    I'm busy wishing I hadn't bought one!

Our apples were a sad disappointment this year, only one tree produced any and despite greaseband protection, most had codling moth damage inside.

You have inspired me @Busy-Lizzie, I've been doing some sorting out and shredding old paperwork.

Some heavy showers here, but I got some of the tomatoes removed and brought the toms inside. Not sure whether they'll ripen though.
Some blackbirds in earlier. A lovely young female sat on the fence for a while.Ā  :)
Heating on for a little while, 7 degrees just now. It helped having the oven on for a roast though.Ā  ;)
I'll have a little tootle on here and then a cuppa.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

My toms now on the front window have started to ripen, much to my surprise. Mind you we have had sunny spells and it's been reasonably warm.Ā

Busy afternoon in sister's garden. Dug up the last of her spuds, pruned the roses and took some cuttings, fettled all the new strawberry plants, fought with the brambles (lost!), weeded, raked up leaves, pulled up the last of the veg for the compost bin and took a few more cuttings from the perennials border.

Took home some daffodil bulbs and stewed apple as paymentĀ  ;)Ā
