We’ve got thunderstorms and rain forecast until a week on Sunday ... with a brief sunny spell on Wednesday. Maybe I can put off buying that new hose ... I’ve just done a bulk order of sanitiser ... if there’s another upsurge coming better get it now ...

I got pee'd orf buying the 50ml hand sanitisers from the SM (where the writing is so small you can't see the alcohol content anyway) at £2+ a throw and bought a 5litre container of 70% from Amazon. I was a bit worried it may be 'hookie' and dissolve my hands - or be nothing more than water with gelatine ... it was allegedly a UK product. So far my hands are still hanging on....and how will I ever know if it protects me or not anyway?!

See whether it burns, that will tell you if it has a reasonably high alcohol content.

This is 80% alcohol ... a brand I’ve bought before in smaller quantities ... as far as we can tell it ‘does what it says on the tin’ and has the right BS numbers and is made in the UK by a properly regulated manufacturer. I can do no more 😉

    Morning all/afties @Pat E
Cool, cloudy and breezy here. 15 just now. Nice when I was out earlier. If we've not had rain for 2 days we get twitchy  :D
My bedroom windows haven't been shut for ages, even on the single figure nights.
I see the powers that be in the south aren't following our example re the exam grading. How interesting. Wouldn't be because they don't like wee Jimmie Krankie, would it?
If @Busy-Lizzie gets her skates on, they're apparently organising flights back before they have the cut off point.

Like Dove, we have rain in the BBC forecast every day for the forseeable - but I have given up using the Bbc weather app.  Ever since they moved away from the Met Office to a new provider their forecasts have been woeful - the forecast for a day says rain, even if there is only a 30% chance of a shower at 3pm.....very misleading.  Using the Met Office website makes life seem sunnier 🤣

Dad visiting today.  Might have to sit inside his house for the first time since January.

Made cucumber soup with my glut yesterday ..... surprisingly tasty 😋. French beans are cropping well now(another late sowing here) and my sweetcorn plants finally have tassles 🌾. I think I might have morphed into a veg grower for the first time 👩🏼‍🌾👩🏼‍🌾👩🏼‍🌾

I haven't bought any but I do use it, and the trolley wipes, at the entrance when I go to the SM each week.  Other than that, good hand-washing has been enough.

Sunny bits and cloudy bits here and mid 20s.   We had some rain yesterday evening and again overnight but not a lot.  However, it's enough to waken up the weedlings in the newly turned soil in the newly planted beds so OH is out there hoeing the silk tree bed.
The campsis on the well is back into triffid mode.  6' of growth since Monday's rain.  Hair cut coming up but first I need to check Possum's thesis for spelling and grammar and advise on general format and style............  Best get on.

I hope those who are frying get some decent rain and can cool down and those who are cold or feel like they're drowning get some respite and sunshine.   I expect you wat both rain and sunshine @Pat E.

I use the app on my iPhone ... weather.com .... the radar says @WonkyWomble is in for some storms before long but ours won’t arrive until later ... our rain has stopped for the moment ... it stopped as soon as I’d draped our undies on the drying rack in the study.

OH uses a different forecast site from me and they rarely agree.   Mine also changes a lot when storms are about.  Sometimes it's best just to look out of the window to see what's coming and if I go upstairs I can see a very long way beyond the trees.
