Morning all. Another hot and sunny day down here - 30 deg. Some rain forecast for tomorrow but not enough I fear. Daughter and OH are spending a few days in Devon at a B&B away from all the crowds but of course it's been wet and windy all the time, she sent a picture of hair being blown sideways! Spoke with son last night, his wife is to start her chemo followed by radiotherapy and Tamoxifen for ten years, my son will have to give her injections to promote white cell formation after each chemo session. He is still recovering from the virus and says his joints are so painful. This is all such a downer for them. I'm trying to cheer them from down here and have told them not to be afraid to ask for help and advice. Must go and do things outside before it gets too hot!
@Fairygirl. She has two teenage sons from her previous marriage and and they are very mature and understanding and helpful, which has been great during the lockdown but now of course they are going back to school. They have all had to be very careful with social distancing and staying in their family bubble because she had to have two biopsy operations, but they are going to need help once her chemo kicks in.
Very difficult @floralies. Nice that the sons are so good, but, as you say - as they're back at school, that's a completely different thing. Fingers crossed that she can get some help - even if it's just with basics. We all have varying degrees of setbacks and difficulties, and the virus has highlighted it, but it's easy to forget how much harder it is for so many people. Sending you all love x
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@floralies what a tough time for your family. I do hope their holiday gives them a bit of a boost and some happy times to look back on during the inevitable down days. Positive thoughts winging their way to you all 🕊 They have a lot of gardeners ‘rooting’ for them 😉

Gruelling times ahead for your sons family @floralies - hope they find a way through it. I hope she accepts any help that’s offered- people can be very kind in these situations.
Mr C has started on the second half of the wall (its Purbeck stone @Obelixx .....my geology is not up to much, but maybe it is similar to the boulders you quarry 😀). He’s out there doing a bit now, before our rain sweeps in about noon.
In a triumph of hope over experience I have just booked a parking ticket for the beach next Thursday. We’ll go walking on it if the weather is not good enough for lounging around.
Need to spend today going through hundreds of emails to work out exactly where we are with the programme of talks for Garden Club next year (think we’ve nearly nailed it). Also organising some online zoom lectures for the rest of this year .....we’ll see how that goes 😂🤣😂
