Have to agree.  It's an inhuman and inhumane thing to do and shows a total lack of respect which will no doubt be visited upon the people in his life too.  His parents must be so proud.

Just trimmed back/deadheaded all my lavender .....what a sweet smelling job that is.  Feeling very calm now 😴

Also did some exercise- so feel justified in going out for lunch with littlest Chicklet.  Making the most of having her round as she’s back up to Uni in a few weeks (assuming Birmingham doesn’t go into a local lockdown that is😮)

Mr C is still building walls 🧱. There’s no rush, but once he’s got the bit between his teeth 🐎🐎🐎

We don’t know the name of the driver but I’m sure that we could find out if we asked around. Trouble with that, is that we might be targeted in some way. I’m too old for that stuff. Just whinge to my neighbour.  I must admit that some of the farmers illegally shoot Roos when they can get away with it. They see them as competing for sheep pasture. 🥺

After taking my car to the garage I spent the morning clearing up all the prunings of Rosemary and Photinia and pulled up ivy on the garden terrace, 3 barrows. Then this afternoon I cleared out another cupboard on the landing. Found clothes I'd worn in my 30s, forgot they were there. There was also the long dress I wore to the Queen's garden party when I was 18, I had such a small waist then, must have been 24" to get into that dress, it's 32" now B-

I used to be a 38:26:38 @Busy-Lizzie till I was 40.   Having a late pregnancy and then slipped lumbar discs did for all that.   Heading in the right direction now tho and finding all sorts of stuff I can get into again.

Would any of those clothes be good for dress-ups for grandkids or to sell for charity?

I am minding a big pot of tomatoes cooking down for more passata whilst also baking home grown onions, courgettes, chillies, tomatoes and a bought pepper to have with sausages and home grown broccoli.   Healthy, colourful, tasty and cheap!

You must keep that dress @Busy-Lizzie for your granddaughters to marvel at. I've got a couple that I can't bear to part with but can't get into anymore, including a shocking pink evening dress OH bought for me as a surprise Xmas pressie - he'd only known me a month or two! I'd admired it in a shop window but it was out of my price range at the time. How's that for a romantic gesture!

A handful of green beans is going in the veg pot for tea tonight. Hardly feeding the five thousand but I'll take any small victory  :)

Too late @Lizzie27, it's gone into the charity bin in the village!

  • Evening all,

Oh @Busy-Lizzie, so hard trying to sort out so much stuff. I've only lived where I am now for 3 years and I often wonder where all this 'stuff' comes from. And I do need it all, just in case. 😁
My dream is to live in a small beach house by the sea at some point, to be able to clean the house in an afternoon and mostly play in the garden, I will have to be very mercenary to get to that point. 🙄

Slightly calmer today, thankfully. Is that it for the summer or will we get a September surge....who knows?

I have had to employ a gardener though, we've agreed he'll do tricky time consuming stuff and I'll plant pretty flowers. 😱🤭

Poor Charlie has been abandoned for weeks, he's happy really, he has ' virtual friends' and is happy playing on his computer. However, I'm feeling guilty and am trying to plan a break with him at half term in October. I've looked at Disneyland Paris, but it's very expensive, I've been to the 'real' Disney in America. Does anyone have experience of Paris, I'm happy to pay if it's worth it, but my experience of the French makes me wonder if they can really do what the Americans do so well in this particular arena? At 13 I'm thinking this might be Charlie's last opportunity to enjoy childhood excitement before being a sulky adolescent gives street cred. 😅

Charlie and I are both loving eating his home grown crop, we had a delicious cucumber and tomato salad on Saturday, his aubergines are looking good, small victories indeed @Biglad. 😁

Good to see you @D0rdogne_Damsel ... glad Charlie’s enjoying his harvest.
