  • Evening all, just, nearly am actually here 😱
It's been a very tricky week for me, hence no G/W presence.
A friend came to stay, always a bit tricky because she always comes in the holidays because she wants to spend time with Charlie. She is adorable and so, so kind. Anyway I decided to take 3 days off work and go to Puy de Fou with them as it's a fabulous experience.
I organised as much as I possibly could before I went, I put two staff in place of me for every shift and continued to manage the reservations and enquiries on my phone as normal. Well, I came back to a virtual mutiny, it was very busy - it's August.... I don't think they realised how much I actually contribute to the smooth running of the place and in actual fact I don't think some of them (not all) want to work that hard!
I'm afraid there's been a few harsh words, just one person in particular is behind most of this. I've had to come down hard because the future of all to their jobs depends on pulling together in tricky times. We'll see. If I can't leave the building for just 3 days and expect things to continue to the same high standard we're doomed. Or more importantly the ones that don't contribute are doomed.

Anyway, I'm back now, I've smoothed things out but I'm making contingency plans for the future.

I did manage to plant two new plants too in the garden, so not all bad. 🙁🙄😁

Must get to sleep, I hope you're all well, I'll try and catch up tomorrow. 😘

Oops so tired missed the post button - Morning All! 🙄

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    waving at @Pat E 👋 lovely little daffs 😊
@D0rdogne_Damsel  😮 glad you’ve got things smoothed over ... and at least you know now who’s reliable and who isn’t ... that’s always useful information.
The wind has dropped and it’s a beautiful morning ☀️
I must say yesterday’s winds made me quite pleased that the foliage on the big ash is sparser than usual this year ... and that we’ve arranged to have it pollarded in early November.

Hi Dove.  Having another quite day here. It’s rather cool outside, so the garden can look after itself for a while.

I’ve had some of my knitted fingerless gloves on sale at my favourite coffee shop and Rachel said she’d sold another pair today. I might have to start knitting more. There are plenty of people passing through on their way to Thredbo and Perisher this weekend because of the good snow dump.

It's already 21C here @Hostafan1 but unlikely to get much warmer as there's a naughty  wind blowing away cobwebs and quite a bit of cloud about till early afternoon.

OH is off to cut the grass/straw he strimmed dwon last week and I have a date with a wall and a headboard, assuming the drill has powered up.

@Pat E I was looking forward to pics of your plot in snow.  Lovely daffs in that gorgeous blue vase!

@D0rdogne_Damsel - good that you got away and good that it was short enough to avoid a melt-down and let you make plans for future getaways.  Haven't been to Puy du Fou myself but OH took his family and they all loved it and so did Possum when she went with a friend.  It's only an hour or so away from here.

I hope everyone's garden has survived the strong winds.  Looks like you have more on the way in the week.

Morning Obelixx. I’m glad you like my little vase of daffs. They certainly brighten the room up. 😁
