    Morning all.

Feel really sorry for Jimmy Anderson, @punkdoc - looks as if he'll have to wait until some indeterminate future test match to get his 600th wicket.  Hope he stays fit...

Forecast for Southampton is that the rain clears at lunchtime. If they are prepared to play in a howling gale we might see some action 🏏🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I have a Ralph Lauren suede jacket which is over 30 years old.

I have 17 different coloured RL polo shirts,  which are between 15 and 25 years old.
They all still look brand new and I still wear them .

It was a present from a guy I was seeing before I met Hubby , but he paid over £500 for it, so I wasn't going to get rid of it. lol

Good morning everyone - just.   Sunny, cloudy spells and breezy here so low 20s.  Dry so there's a great deal of activity with tractors going back and forth in the lane with harvested grain, straw and hay to store for the winter.

Perfick weather for painting indoors for an hour or two and then maybe some weeding this pm.   OH is out mowing before heading off to Namur tomorrow for a few days.   His packing list is funny - jeans, t-shirts, undies then a bottle of wine, filter coffee, blood orange juice and Weetabix for breakfasts, tomatoes and chillies from the garden and his picnic lunch and water - all because she presents her project tomorrow and won't have had time to shop plus he doesn't want to eat at the services on the way.

We have a lot less "stuff" now too @Busy-Lizzie and I've done the shoe whittling cos of not being able to do heels anymore.    Come autumn and the departure of assorted swifts, swallows and house-martins, I want to have a good clear out in the cave and make some level concrete bases along the sides for the shelving.  At the mo it's all on the tilt a bit cos the floor slopes and I need to sort, organise and reduce so the centre is clear for the return of nesting birds next spring.   Why they and the redstarts can't all just stick to the ruin is beyond me but we'll d our best to accommodate rather than evict.

Stay safe and dry everyone.  It does look a bit too exciting further north.

@Hostafan1 Mr C has a few 20 year old RL polo shirts .....they do NOT look brand new 🙄. His build only fits US sizing .....we need a NY shopping spree when we can travel again 👛

A bit blowy here but better than I expected and a dry spell predicted after lunch so may be able to get out then. Just about finished the Leaf Bin yesterday using fencing pins - I find them so useful for garden DIY jobs as they are easier to fix than wooden posts in our heavy clay soil and they don't rot.

I was looking at my shoe collection yesterday, thinking I should have a clear-out but as I've got small feet and small sized shoes increasingly difficult to get hold of, am a bit reluctant to bin any. I keep them in a special tall wooden shelving unit I made many years ago in woodwork classes run by a women's co-operative. I really enjoyed it.
