We got 18/30 on the first one and 15/24 on the second @Fairygirl ... if it hadn't been for dear Bob Marley my second round would've been embarrassing 🤭

Morning all. Things have quietened down here after a wild day and night. The wind woke me up during the night so I laid there rather petrified thinking of the 3 very tall trees that are too close for comfort to the house. Thankfully nothing happened, we've just been out for our morning walk and there's only debris down, nothing major.
It's rather fun when OH's go away, isn't it Obelixx. I enjoy eating what and when I like and doings things that OH wouldn't necessarily approve of!
Glad the wigwam's survived, I'm surprised our bean sticks are still standing Dove.
Ugh, wet boots are horrid Fairygirl.
That blue sky is stunning @Pat E.
Hope everybody else is safe and well - and their veg.

Forgot to add that I'm mildly excited today, just waiting for a friend to arrive to go to a garden centre - that's twice in six months!  Have got quite a long list...…...… Might even have coffee and cake if their café is open.

Definitely fun @Lizzie27.  I can reorganise furniture and contents and leave stuff about and tidy up when I'm done with no moaning and groaning.   Eat when and what I want, or not, as the case may be.

Tomorrow I'm off for a meet-up with patch pals and on the way home will go via a GC to buy some lovely spring bulbs for my new bed by the barn.   They miss a trick here - no cafés and often more "lifestyle" than plants  - but I'll wander and potter and peruse to my heart's content.

Hi folks,  Good to read all your chatter.  The wind has been blowing a gale here too but luckily not many casualties.  A huge hollyhock was blown over and a few climbing rose canes have come adrift.  I've done a bit of deadheading this morning but not found much enthusiasm for anything else.  Mum was taken into hospital yesterday with suspected pneumonium but is returning to the home today.  Haven't been able to visit her for a while again due to a local lockdown on all hospitals and nursing homes.

Wet feet are kinda commonplace in these here parts, even just schlepping round nearby @Lizzie27. Good job I have several pairs of shoes/boots to use though. They do take a while to dry out.
Bog trotting isn't my favourite occupation.  ;)
Enjoy your trip - my friend has just phoned too, to go for a coffee. Haven't done that since last year!
Lovely sky indeed @Pat E. I missed it - you posted at the same time as me, and then we were onto the next page. Perfect temps with that kind of sky too. Would suit me fine.

  • Hello all,

I've taken advantage of a quiet morning to organise myself. I've managed to get bent glasses fixed ( nearly, I'm waiting in the opticians now whilst she tweaks them), I've made a hair appointment and a chiropodist appointment, all for a week or so away, but at least I have a peg in the ground to work towards. I've even managed lunch out, a typical rustic French place, but good food at a good price, that's the most important. 😁
I even nearly managed breakfast in peace until a delivery arrived and two ladies sneaked in the open gate for coffee at 8:45, we don't open until 10!  Although it's no trouble to make two coffees, it sort of wrong foots you before you start. 🙄

Paperwork this afternoon, then I'm on chef duty tonight. So much for a day off. At least it's a bit calmer. 🙂

Garden looked good this morning after a little light rain.

Enjoy your bit of free time @Obelixx

Hope the sweet peas and runner beans stay safe @Fairygirl and @Dovefromabove

Reassuring to have cameras @Busy-Lizzie. I always used to have two houses when I was working in the UK. A lot of stress and juggling.
Hugs and best wishes to you all.
    Glasses fixed - 95€ 😱

@D0rdogne_Damsel I'm impressed that you can post while your glasses are in another room ...... no chance of that for me nowadays I'm afraid  ;) ..... and that's a bargain  B)

I've done a big online shopping list for delivery on Saturday evening, and now I've got a pastry case baking 'blind' in the oven ready to be filled and turn into a tomato and cheese quiche for supper.  The thinnings from the radicchio will make a green salad to go with it.

Talking of boots and shoes ... OH and I have just worked out that today is the first day I've worn any shoes at all for at least two weeks, except for clogs when on the veg patch, and sometimes not even then.  I've not been anywhere and I like being barefoot ...

Me too @Dovefromabove and flip flops come a close second for when I have to venture outside - stony gravel or hidden nettles in what passes for grass here.  Luckily for me I can still get away with just reading glasses and have all sorts of ordinary SM ones dotted about the house - kitchen, living room, bedroom, sewing room, PT, potting shed, cars........

I have had a good sort out i the annex and pantry.   Now to check drying paint upstairs and move a bookcase which means moving another thingy and so on.

It's getting brighter and warmer out there but I'm in domestic mode.

I liked your sky too @Pat E but not so much your temperatures.
