Not sure what the image was meant to signify.....symbols only mean something to people who already know what the symbol means!

Maybe your OH just reacted to that gloom that seems to have descended on the planet (or am I projecting there?)? Has anyone else noticed it? I'm a recluse anyway, so the lockdown has had little or no impact on my daily life, but since 'Covid' I've felt  distinct 'waves of change' -  in two ways - a total lethargy, and a form of despondency. Is it just the impact of years of gloom since Brexit started? Non-stop dross on the TV/Radio about which you feel so ineffectual?

Good morning all.   Great that you've had so much rain @Pat E and hope you get some more so it can soak in deep.

No rain in view here and the dribble forecast for Friday has disappeared.  Going to be scorchio instead at 40C.  Lovely.   Good job I have plenty of resources (and lists) for indoor or shady activities.

Impressive caulis @D0rdogne_Damsel and hope they taste good.  I love them so grew some earlier this year but they didn't have the same tight texture and tasted a bit funny.  Maybe due to the hot April and May weather?  I shall stick to cabbages and broccoli I think and buy a cauli when I need one unless anyone has tips for doing better.

I find no rhyme or reason in activities involving crowds at the mo and football at any time as it involves all sorts of unattractive behaviour by players/managers/fans/hooligans tagging along for the ride @steveTu so definitely TMI!

@Nanny Beach just tell him to close his ears if you want to watch the news and keep his language and opinions to himself unless he has something new to offer and politely.

    Morning 😀

Just catching up here after a flurry of email writing. The garden club are trying to organise a zoom lecture to substitute face to face ones for the rest of the year.  I seem to have become involved 🙃

Rain has stopped here too.  Couple of coolish days then scorchio forecast here.  Need to make the most of today to get my (very) late sown Rudbeckia in the ground.  Carol K said it was ok to sow in June 🤣🤣🤣.  And some are nearly ready to flower 7 weeks later .....amazing 😜

Off to the drive-in cinema tonight.  Can’t go wrong with Dirty Dancing in my book ....Nobody puts Baby in the corner 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Internet is very very slow at the moment. The children on holiday must all be using it to watch films.

@steveTu mentioned gloom because of Covid 19. I think OH is getting in that state. He's still waiting for his hip replacement and he's due to go to England on the 5th August. Will there be quarantine, will the plane fly, will he be able to get back here in France?

Can't remember where I got to with our house selling and buying. The house I liked but needed work which I'd made a conditional offer on has now been sold to a cash buyer. I will be a cash buyer but not yet at that stage.

We saw another house yesterday afternoon. We really liked it, very pretty, stone built with blue shutters and a paved terrace, beams, fireplace but smaller than the other two houses. I was a bit carried away and made them an offer which they accepted. It was top of my budget. Then I send emails with photos to my family. Had a reply from daughter 1 who had done a search of the area and she found that there are plans to build a new bypass a few hundred metres from the house. I've written to the Mairie and the Prefecture to ask what is going on. I had done a search too but hadn't found those plans.

    Hi all

    Raining, again.
    Very windy.
Still livid about the con trick that is masks.
Moira starts new job tomorrow, so I will be fending for myself. Never used to be a problem, but since I got ill, I have found stuff more difficult.

Other than that, everything is great.

Got to love your warm, sunny view on life @punkdoc!  You should have better weather on the way to help cheer you up and you are, after all, a fully grown adult so can manage for a bit.  It's not like she's going off to war zone hell-holes in the Middle East where who knows what could happen!!

@Obelixx, I am more than capable of looking after myself, I just have far less confidence than I did.
