Good morning everyone.  Evening @Pat E.

Hot and sunny again and going to get hotter.    Gentle gardening then and in the shade where possible.

I have just spent a futile hour on the phone and 'net trying to get an appointment with a dermatologist.   No-one taking online appointments for the rest of this year or else very odd hours in which one can call to try and get an appointment.  Now to try fpr physio for the stupid knee and my shoulders and then a dentist.  Loads of fun.

I hope you get your OH sorted out soon @Busy-Lizzie and you too.

The birds are still very busy here so I can't yet get in the donkey shed to complete its conversion to hen house.  We've had swallows nesting in the ruins which has been great but yesterday we had swarms of mixed swallows, swifts and house-martins swooping about the garden and some perching vertically on the ruin walls.    Entertaining but odd.

Haha Hosta nearly made me choke on my boiled sweet!  :D
  • Heavy rain starting here and we have a wind warning for later, so a indoor day. The plants will cope...

Hi folks,  Great piccies @Hostafan1 I've been shopping today, it was horrible.  I find I get panicky in a mask, don't feel I'm getting enough oxygen for some reason.  No choice as I had to pick up some things for mum and sort out her care home bills.  Dropped shopping off but can't see her again as all care homes in the area have been put back on lockdown due to a slight increase of cases in the area.  None at the home though.  Will probably get out in the garden and do some deadheading and feeding.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all [just] /afties - or evening - Pat  ;)
Lovely pix @Hostafan1. Great when everything grows away so well. I don't want to see you in 'yer goony' thank you very much..... :D
Haven't really read back, so hope everyone is fine. Not much to report here either. Garden is very self sufficient, so I need a small project to stop me being bored. Will have to endure going to a DIY outlet for some screws. I'd be happy if I never had to go in any shop, ever again.
There's a huge pine just along from me being taken down, which is very sad. There's two of them - been there for decades. Causing no problem, so I don't know why the home owner is having it done. I just hope the people next to him don't get any ideas. They're beautiful when you get the moon behind them too  :/
A bright day here, and the sun is trying very hard to get through. Maybe later. At least the walk this morning was dry. Monday was a bit on the damp side....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Just walked down to the paper shop, caught a bus to the RUH just to pick up some hearing aid batteries, bussed back to pharmacy to pick up prescriptions and then walked home again. I would have walked all the way there and back but joints aching after too much gardening yesterday. We're quite pleased as OH wore his running watch last week which recorded our daily walk at 1.5 miles for the return trip, instead of the one mile we'd thought it'd been. It's uphill most of the way back which is doubly good for you!
Small beer though for the likes of @Fairygirl!

Hi all. Lovely pics of your garden @Hostafan1, it's grown so well and so quick! Maybe all that rain that you have helps after all    :)  I see your Agapanthus are still flowering well, mine are nearly finished, everything flowers earlier down here.
Just returned from SM shop, there were some very interesting ways that people were wearing their masks - hanging from one ear - a lot of these, under chin, over nose and mouth uncovered etc, why bother at all?
@Fairygirl OH is trying to finish some outdoor painting so if you are looking for something to do....... but on the other hand I think you would find it too hot!
Have a good day all whatever you are up to.

I've been getting books via Librarys West cloud since lockdown started. I've read some weird and wonderful things as you can never really tell from the synopsis if you will like a book but that might be an advantage. The best part is that its part of the normal library service and is FREE.

I have seen at our library that you can borrow ebooks. They appear in their collections list.

I have been and collected my books. Two of the books were from authors that I said that I liked and the other 2 are other authors but i have heard of them. The lady who selected them said that it sounds like we have similar book tastes and she enjoys the two other authors and hoped that would too.

It is a very easy system that they have put in place and I am rather impressed. I have just put a Thank You on their Facebook page.
