No1 daughter went to the funeral of SiL's grandmother. My 3 month grandson has been to a funeral before he's been to visit us. What a mess we're in. A TV had been set up so folk could "watch" from outside, but given the small numbers they were allowed inside. Infuriatingly folk kept asking if they could hold GS: daughter was annoyed that folk had even asked but it's her partner's family so had to bite her tongue.
And folk wonder why the whole situation is a shambles @Hostafan1.... I get annoyed at the vilification of young people just now. In my experience, it's older people who constantly flout the guidance.

Exactly, they're attending the funeral of someone who has died from Covid !!!!!!!!!!
Asking people to behave responsibly now that pubs etc are opening down in England is laughable. Large sectors of the population haven't shown any responsibility at any point, so what makes anybody think they'll do it now?

you can go to the pub , full of strangers eat, drink, presumably sing, but you can't invite 30 of your family and friends to your wedding and do any of those things! Total shambles . Opening pubs is purely a populist move to detract from the total shambles that has been the inept response of this government .
And Boris’s father has gone to stay in his Greek villa despite Boris telling us we should only make ‘essential’ trips abroad. And I’m aware that a couple I know are currently driving across Europe to view a property on Rhodes that they plan to buy ... it’s ‘urgent‘ apparently because they need to do it before the EU Transition period ends on the 31st Jan ... of course they were vociferous and active Br***teers 🤬

The biggest problem is that there is no law, only guidance, and people are ar**holes. The number of folk that have this 'well I don't know anyone who's died, so it's all fine' attitude doesn't help. Couple that with being allowed to drive anywhere and everywhere [huge mistake IMO] and a second spike was/is inevitable. No cure for stupid. We can now travel further, as of yesterday, but I won't be going anywhere.

We can almost hear the rumble of oncoming caravans and invading grockles.
Devon and Cornwall police have been refused any extra money to police the invasion.
