I haven't been out yet. Decided to make naan bread for our veggie curries this evening and ended up cleaning all the kitchen surfaces whilst hanging around to see if the live yeast was still alive. Nope, but I have dried too so that's OK. Not much point going out before lunch now so might make a banana cake with the ones that are too ripe for OH's breakfast.
He managed 10 minutes with his big strimmer before it died so drove it to chappy in the village who said he couldn't look at it before end of July as he's off on hols. OH is now watching videos on Youtube about how to manage mixes and airflow and not kill the motor............ Not a natural mechanic.
Enjoy your wine tonight @punkdoc. Fingers crossed for next door.
Hope she likes her cake @Fairygirl and your visit doesn't get rained on @chicky
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Reminds me of my OH when he was on our sit on mower out in our field when it died on him, he was looking at the mechanics and couldn't make it out, I went out to have a look and said to him "why don't you put some petrol in it"? enough said.
Yes well, thanks to his careful ministrations our sit-on is dead. refuses to fork out for another till he's got everything stimmed, my bed(s) marked out and dug and then a better idea of which model will suit best. At this rate that'll be next year.

A miserable day here and I feel miserable and depressed as well - not like me at all. To cheer myself up I went to a GC as my violas in the front door trough have just suddenly died on me, I think the constant rain has got to them as well. Managed to get some pelargoniums (no idea which colour) at 50p per pot and bedding begonias to fill any gaps. They had a better range than I anticipated but it was such a soulless experience, I didn't enjoy it at all and their café wasn't open today either as I hoped it might have done. Then I drove down to Homebase to pick up a tester pot or two for the said trough as it's looking tatty. Had to queue outside - all for a £3.45 tester pot! Couldn't be bothered to look at anything else. If this is shopping for the foreseeable future, count me out.
Another damp day so the bathroom has had a makeover. The previous owners were enthusiastic but not terribly careful DIY-ers, and wall and floor tiles in the bathroom had lots of spare cement and grout on them. And someone had opened the window while his/her fingers were covered in silicone sealant... boring work with scrapers and old knives was required, followed by a really good clean with a vinegar cleaner. It now sparkles.
Still no word from York of the new baby's arrival. We think he/she is trying to hang on until Tuesday, to share its dad's birthday...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
PS there is a long list of rules about getting in there ....including temperature checks on arrival. Thats more than we got at Heathrow when we returned in early March 🤒
We saw that our local, a pretty thatched pub, just up the road, was opening for a few hours for drinks in the garden so we went and had a beer (me) and a cider (OH).
Did a bit of gardening this afternoon as a gardening friend and her OH are coming for coffee tomorrow morning.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Coal face today. I'm not looking forward to it. At least I'm NOT going to be in store.
It was reduced. Also got 3 lavender for 2.99€ 😁
