I have since managed to get to the GC again, they have 40% off a lot of plants, they had them all in stock for spring and then of course got closed down so are now over-stocked, I felt it was only right that I should support them and take some off their hands.

I am glad to hear you are feeling better @punkdoc, 6 weeks without wine, gosh you deserve a medal!
I think you love your job really @Hostafan1, why wouldn't you, dealing with the general public all day? !
Weather fairly stable here at the moment, warm but not too hot, gentle breeze and no rain forecast for a week or so. Great for the Tearoom, plants not so happy. I have had to get the hose out but I do get cross with it, sometimes when you're pulling on it it gets itself in a knot or caught on something and sometimes if I yank too hard it tries to decapitate the flowers, I wish I had put in a watering system in the beginning.....next year maybe.
Charlie did a sleepover last night at a friend's house, they were camping in the garden, quite a few of them I believe, I wonder how much sleep he will have had. He is slowly turning into a teenager (13 on the 31st of August) his arms and legs seem far too big for his body at the moment and he is permanently tired, all that growing I suppose. And his bedroom.... I am sure you have all experienced it but I am not looking forward too much to the next couple of years with him, we'll see.
Must go, have a cake in the oven and need to check it. Lovely recipe, Dominic Hopkinson Yorkshire Tea Fruit Cake, the fruit was soaking all night in the tea, smells delicious. I have a party of 14 coming for afternoon tea today, they are French but are in an English Appreciation Society and regularly come for an English 'experience', so sweet.
Good day all, I hope I remember to post this now.

Gosh, @D0rdogne_Damsel, Charlie already a teenager! He was a small child when I first met him. My son No 2 will be 37 ( I think!) on 29th August, I still call him Bunny Rabbit
We have a lot of fallen leaves on the grass @Dovefromabove, OH only mowed yesterday. So windy. Also a scraggy looking half dead honeysuckle that I still haven't done anything about.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Our 2nd grandson (4th grandchild) was born safely at 5.30am, at home, weighing 9lb6oz. His poor mum... she's tiny, size 3 feet... but mum and baby are doing well.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I'm not sure their 2-year-old will be very sympathetic about Mum & Dad not having had a lot of sleep last night... but hopefully his dad can entertain him while mum has a well-earned rest.

Good morning to everyone. Sorry for absence. Just been feeling a bit solitary. Love to you all and your gardens!
