@Hostafan1 ... I think that should be qualified ... the water is too cold for you to swim ... a large proportion of the rest of us enjoy it immensely. 🏊♀️ 😉
We go to the beach but not to sunbathe or swim except for Possum who had surfing lessons and wears a body suit to do it. OH and I don't go in July and August if we can help it unless we have guests who want to go and see the Atlantic and have a mooch. Good for walkies with the dogs too but not in holiday months.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Evening all, quick pop in before work - it's our market night tonight at the bottom of our garden, turning out to be the busiest night of a normal week. We have an 11 booked tonight as well as the regulars.
Glad you found some plants @Obelixx, still not managed to get mine in the ground, but they had a good water. Tomorrow morning I hope whilst waiting for the 7:30 delivery.
@Fairygirl the programme will be on Channel 4, but I certainly won't be looking glamorous in the background - that would takes weeks of preparation.
Sorry you have had a tricky day @Hostafan1. We are well and truly into tourist time here now, a snotty little Belgium man clicked his fingers at me last night for another beer whilst I was on the phone taking a reservation.....good job I had my mask on. I just keep taking the money, it's along winter so we have to grin (gimace actually) and bear it!
Anyway, must go, have a good evening all.

Sounds like Waitrose ( and all other delivery services) should be making use of the what3words app. It gives very accurate locations and is simple to use - even tourists should manage it.

I can’t believe that somebody just said “there” to you Hosta! What is the matter with people?? On what planet is that acceptable when a fellow human is doing a service for you? Not cool.
I hope everyone is doing ok. Just had a tasty veg and meatball stew with garlic croutons so I will be heading for the sofa now as no energy to potter outside tonight and nature has done the watering for me.
We've just enjoyed gammon and pineapple with our own 2nd earlies 'Jazz' potatoes, carrots, runner beans and snap peas. Scrumptious! I'm especially pleased that my carrots grew, the newish raised beds must make all the difference. Nothing we want to watch on TV tonight, so will read the new GW mag which arrived today.
We saw 4 houses today, didn't care for 3, still like the one I saw before, but it needs quite a lot of work, doesn't even have heating apart from a wood burner. Brand new bathrooms x 3 and brand new kitchen but patches of damp and needs some skirting boards. Garden is very rough, mostly mown weeds. New septic tank but no gutters on front of house roof. One house had all mod cons but I didn't like it or where it was. I've seen 12 so far since the autumn.
Hope to see another next week with a different agent.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
