Why is getting thousands of people to scramble back into the country before a deadline a good thing?
Exactly. Start the rule immediately. If there's a risk of folk coming from France, don't delay. Why are folk are folk who " beat the deadline"Â less dangerous than those who arrive after it? They've all been there and should all be treated the same.Â
My sister filled her freezer before going to Spain a few weeks ago and booked an online delivery for the day she got home . Very wise as quarantine was imposed whilst she was away. Nobody forced these people to go abroad, they all knew that the situation is very fluid and quarantines are being considered constantly.
The only folk who loved it were the transporters who quadrupled ( sometimes more ) fairs back here
Not to mention the stress, the speeding and probable bad driving and danger to others with the driver on the wrong side of the car/road lane and all the excess pollution from the speeding and the idling in long queues while they inch forward onto shuttles and ferries.  Can't blame the transport companies for taking advantage since they've had almost 5 months with no passengers but I do have to wonder why anyone thought it was a good idea to leave home, let alone go abroad, while the virus is still about.
. I don't like that Morrison's because the staff all act like they hate the place and have serious morale issues.
I would say that is very observant of you. A former colleague of mine got a job at Morrisons managing one of the fresh produce areas. A few months into the job he was told he would be managing all fresh produce, despite the fact that he had been employed on the basis of his specialist knowledge of one sector. He was told at the same time that there would be no increase in pay although he would be taking on the work previously done by 4 people. He declined their generous offer and transferred to a part time job which is basically just ensuring shelves are kept filled and sorted. He is in the fortunate situation of not needing the money but wanting something to keep himself occupied.
Pretty much all staff in that branch of Morrisons walk around with fixes scowls on their faces.

Oh how i'd like to add my thoughts about working there, but i'll save you all from a very long bad tempered rant.
@B3, i mostly let rip when i get home from work.It then becomes a competition between me and my husband as to who's had the sh**iest day.Me at Morrisons or him trying to sort out peoples phone woes. He's at least working from home now so i reckon i win that competition!
No it doesn't @B3 !!!!  I am unreasonably angry at this probably because I am slowly recovering from the very uncomfortable effects of ridiculously hot weather, have been cut off from the world for too many months, haven't had enough sleep and my NDN is putting up a summer house to the sound of very unacceptable music!
I am beyond curmudgeon and moving toward naked hostility - pun intended.

@anniD Yes, i would also (try) to acknowledge a reply and indeed i hope i always have but (and i'm not making excuses here) you don't need to log in to see the reply so maybe if they only have one question that needs answering and it's answered enough for them...
@B3 It seems that every time i log in i have to hunt the page i last visited, no going straight to the new posts. I guess it may have something to do with me clearing cookies/cache each time i switch off the computer. Not that i'm paranoid of course...
If you really want to remain as anonymous as possible online there are 3 ways I know of some better than others.
install a virtual machine. This is an install of an operating system on your existing computer which you load up then connect to the internet through that machine. This wont hide your IP address so use a VPN with that machine which will assign you an IP from any country you choose so it appears as if your somewhere other than you actually are, then when your done delete that copy and load a new copy each time you browse the internet. This will virtually make you invisible online when browsing. Not a 100% but you would need some serious hardware and skilled security services IT staff to track you down and then they will likely only track you back to the VPN IP. Don't name your PC after your name etc.. as the machine name can be picked up remotely.
Use Tails. You install it on a DVD or USB drive, boot up the computer from the drive and, voila, you're pretty close to anonymous on the internet. Interesting story on Tails used by Edward Snowden here
or if you cant be bothered with all that just use the Tor browser. directly rather than through Tails which allows you to browse anonymously and does not store your browsing history but it can be a bit slow as so many people are trying to protect their identity and get up to no good using this browser.
Come on Londen-Latimer I'm at it again lol ..
