Winge and moan away as much as you like @punkdoc ... this is Britain ... someone's got to do it ... far to much forced jollity 'make do and mend' stuff going on if you ask me .... you go ahead my dear ... you have jolly good reason so let rip. ((hugs)) and Get Well Soon xx

Hope it happens soon @punkdoc and that it goes well. Hugs for you and Moira.
W're on duvet cover only too @Hostafan1 but I did need a nightie to keep my shoulders warm last night. Can't be doing with PJs at any time.
OH has decided to play with water butts today. No rain forecast for ages now so not exactly urgent but I've been asking him for 2 years now to get them up on bricks so the tap can be at the bottom rather than 10inches/30cms up which meant losing access to about 50 litres in each one. Helped him tip out some very murky looking water on a fruit bed. They need a good clean now.
I've been busy making a huge batch of red salad for our lunches and then cleaning and sharpening secateurs and loppers after I found he'd left the big loppers out in the rain for 2 days. Now to go and get some proper gardening done.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

No need to apologise @punkdoc. Good to let off steam Lovely here @Hostafan1 Windy but it's stayed dry despite all the black clouds appearing now and again. Think we've to get more rain later. It took till midday yesterday to get to double figs, but it was a bit better today, and got to 21 for a while. I've been quite busy, and got my clem in, and various other bits and bobs. The wind yesterday had damaged one of the new stems, despite my best efforts to keep it out of the wind. Hopefully, it'll be ok. The pyracantha has been full of bees today, and lots of sparrows and dunnocks in an out. Lovely watching them.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello all. Hugs to @punkdoc - hope the surgery goes well.
We have lots of sparrows here too, @Fairygirl , a novelty after our sparrow-less garden in Yorkshire. They're amusing little things, squabbling and chattering all day. They use my pot watering system (three old bowls, kept full of water) to teach the babies to bathe.
I've not been on here a lot because there's been a flurry of activity on the house - inside, with much decorating being done (I'm the chief rubber-down of woodwork; hubby is an ace painter but hates the preparation and would skip it if I didn't step in and insist on doing it!) - and outside, with the builders returning to make a concrete path round the house, finish a few bits and pieces, and remove several loads of rubbish and spare sand, blocks etc. The front garden suddenly looks bigger. I've measured it and started drawing a plan; hopefully some of you clever people will have ideas for making the garden look interesting.
It's cold here too (4.4 overnight), so I'm not annoying Hubby by trying to escape to the garden all the time. Just some of it...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Has rained all day, thunder and lightening this afternoon. Have done almost nothing all day apart from talk on the phone and write emails and watch TV.
Daughter 2 went to my French house last weekend for a change of scene with the children. She has sent photos of the garden. Oh dear! Weeds in the paving around the pool and in the drive, grapevine is almost blocking the door to the garden, purple sage has blocked the path, such a mess. I've emailed the gardening man who came to help in February.
Have booked a flight in July, first reasonably priced one I found, but OH will stay here.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks for all the good wishes. I have been unfortunate enough to be a patient a lot, but this has been by far the worst. I am a massive supporter of the NHS [ worked for it for over 30 years ], but something is badly wrong, the care has been terrible. Not being able to have any visitors is also very scary, 24 hours a day in pain, nobody to moan to. Anyway better stop, or I might start crying again,
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I suspect NHS staff hardly know if they’re on their heads or their heels ... a friend who is a senior midwife has found herself seconded to all sorts of departments for all sorts of tasks, none of them anything to do with childbirth ... and I also know that many nurses are just totally drained, physically and emotionally. 😞
