Good morning LB and all to follow, grey day here with rain but the garden and allotment need it so no complaints from me. Lovely morning on the allotment yesterday got a few more bits done. More melon seeds have germinated plus my morning glories. I am trying the scented white moonflower again this year after the ones last year were killed by the cold so fingers crossed! Fiancé worked on the new fruit cage but I will buy different netting as the one included seems flimsy and could be unsafe for birds I think a chicken wire type would be better.
Morning everyone . I have been sitting here in bed ordering some plants a nd lettuce seeds ,quite happy.Must get up otherwise my purse will be empty.Have a good day everyone .
Morning Debs and Ruby. I think you are right about the chicken wire Debs. Your melon seeds are storming ahead. Rain is actually forecast for here so I'll just have to see how the day pans out. Ruby, I have to 'fess up. This social isolating is encouraging me to spend more on garden stuff.

Ruby I agree just ordered a present for oldest daughter ( a wisteria that can be grown in a pot) and two buddleias went into the basket too! How did that happen? Hope it comes in time for her birthday in May.
Is it towards the end of the month Debs? I think that you should be fine. My wild flower plug plants arrived within a week of ordering. I potted them all up yesterday.

Good morning to all. Beautiful morning here. I'll take a whole day for rest. I already started to prepare lunch. Yesterday I gathered young nettles and I'll make green gnocchi. It's not complicated but it takes time. Have a nice day and enjoy in the gardens.
Morning Ante. You need a rest today after preparing your ground for the potato crop yesterday. I like the sound of the gnocchi. I have plenty of nettles in my garden (always having to remove some) which I leave for the butterfly larvae. I've never tried cooking with them though I have heard of - and sampled - nettle beer.

Debs a cooler day here too. LB I think it may rain here too. Chive how lovely for mum to win the scrabble, a nice way of staying connected and fun for all of you. I’m just enjoying a cup of tea after pottering.
Afties all. I've been in the garden all morning and just had my lunch - pasta and pesto for me Ante. I've planted three trees, an unnamed clematis which was a lucky dip buy, weeded and then it started to rain! I had completed all I wanted to do though so I'm not too disappointed plus it had got very cold. The heating had come on in the house so it was nice to get into a snuggly living room. Great fun playing Scrabble Chive and your Mum will have been chuffed (Ante = pleased) to have won. I will be posting another quiz at about 16:00.
