Oh LB - what a bummer with your car. Are you happy using (do you have?) a battery charger? If so, an hour's charge should be enough to get you going and then take it for an 'enthusiastic' drive.

I know you're being very good keeping yourself isolated but you never know if there might be an emergency when you really need to use the car.

Alternatively do you have breakdown cover or a kindly neighbour who can help you out?

Re the cherry picker: Yes it has a platform / cage that rises 12m and then a boom that reaches out about 6m and the whole lot is on a turntable which turns through 270 degrees.

    It's one of these:

OH drives and operates it from controls in the platform /cage and there's a second set of controls which can be operated from ground level if necessary.

I hope that you get your car sorted soon LB . At least everyone on here have gardens and we can get outside . LB you are not isolated . You have all your friends on Rez to talk to ,cheer up love .
I hope that you get some relief from your painful shoulder soon .
LB when I dug up my garden and built a small terrace , I knew that I had bitten off more than I could chew . It was doggedness that kept me going. I don’t like giving in . But I never want to build another wall .😳

Hi everyone, haven't been able to get on here for a couple of days. First it kicked me out and I couldn't get on for ages and then we lost our internet connection. Not long had it back. Probably because everyone is working from home or school children are busy with school work.
Will read back in a mo.
Hope your son is feeling better Chive

I've sent for a battery charger T'Bird - which I am quite happy to use - but I also have home start and a great neighbour who said we could jump start it but I'm happy to wait for the charger to arrive as even driving the car to charge up the battery, it would then only sit on the drive and go flat again. At least with the charger, I can charge the battery fully and then do a 'top up' every week, whilst it is relatively idle.
I WANT a cherry picker! That looks like major fun to use. Glad you have managed to get back on here SGL.
I know Ruby, and I'm so glad to have all my friends on here to listen to my moans. To be honest, I'm not a really big moaner - I only sound off! Life is way too short to waste on being miserable.

    Good morning wednesday wishes
Good morning everybody. I hope you have all had a decent night's sleep. Good news about your son Chive. Hope that he's even better today. My shoulder is much better but I am going to take things easy again i.e. no tugging weeds out or heavy digging as I want it to be completely pain free before I even think about those sorts of tasks. Its looking very nice outside. Happy cementing, house scrubbing, planting - will you get any potatoes in today Ante? - fruit cage assembling and generally enjoying your time.

Morning LB and all to follow.

No, no potato planting today LB. It's still very unpleasant weather. Rest your shoulder, weeds can wait day or two.

Chive, that's a good news about your son. You can relax now a bit.

I have a similar problem with right hand like LB. Yesterday I went to cottage despite bad weather. It was very windy and only 5 ℃ when I came up there. I took my new trimmer and cut the grass and weeds around fruit trees. Came home late and I was very tired and almost frozen.

    Have a nice you all!

    Self-isolation Quarantine Diary
Day 1.  I can do this! Got enough food and wine to last a month.
Day 2.  Opening my eighth bottle of wine. I fear wine supplies won't last.
Day 3.  Strawberries! Some have 210 seeds, some have 235 seeds! Who knew??
Day 4.  20:00. Removed my day pyjamas and put on my night pyjamas.
Day 5.  Today I tried to make hand sanitiser - it came out like jelly.
Day 6.  I get to take the rubbish out......I'm so excited I don't know what to wear.
Day 7.  Laughing far too much at my own jokes.
Day 8.  Went to a new restaurant called 'The Kitchen'. You have to gather all the ingredients and make your own meal. I have no idea how this restaurant is still in business.
Day 9.  I put wine bottles in every room. Tonight I am going to go bar hopping.
Day 10. Struck up a conversation with a spider. Seems nice. He's a web designer.
Day 11. Isolation is hard. I swear my fridge just said: 'What the hell do you want now?'
Day 12. I realised why dogs get so excited about something moving outside, going for walks or car rides. I think I just barked at a squirrel.
Day 13. If you keep a glass of wine in each hand you cannot accidently touch your face.
Day 14. Watched the birds fight over a worm: Blackbirds 3 - 1 Robins
Day 15. Anybody else feel like they have cooked dinner 395 times so far this month?
