Good morning all! Happy Easter Monday! Wet and windy here overnight but skies are clearing and I am planning a day at the allotment! Got strawberry plants to go in and I am planning a couple of bee friendly planters to attract the bees who live in the hives on the allotment.
Have not read back but hope everyone had a good 🐣 Easter Sunday.

Good morning LB, debs, Chive and all to follow.
    Happy Easter Monday!

Here is beautiful spring morning. I can smell rain in the air and we need it now. I was complaining on snow and rain two weeks ago, but after few days of sun and wind everything is dry.
    Have nice and restful day.

He delayed one day but it's still beautiful.

Morning Debs and Chive. Debs, I think it will be a good day for planting - bit of rain last night so the soil will be nice and damp. I think I might do a Carol Klein with a huge clump of cowslips in the front garden. They could be split up and dotted all round. As you know, I love my birds but I would like to know which little beggar has been going around attempting systematically to decapitate all my primulas! I am finding the flowers all scattered around the plants. Possibly the nectar is being sort after. Grrr.
I slept a little better last night Chive, thanks for asking. Its the silly cough that wakes me up but as this seems to be an affliction I have had for several years now (on and off) I think I am learning to live with it.

Ante that is lovely and I am glad your weather has improved.
LB that cough is a lingerer isn’t it? Have you tried an extra pillow at night? I have a tickle cough at the moment but it’s a side effect of my hay fever, I do get funny looks on the bus though. I have the same issue with primulas though not the drumstick type so thinking more of those next year, also the gorgeous yellow primulas in planters by front door have been killed by vine weevils. I have ordered nematodes.
Chive I will send you some of the rain we had last night it was pretty heavy but a sunny day now.

Morning Ante. That is a beautiful flower and well worth waiting for. Debs, I've tried an extra pillow but it just gives me a crick in the neck but thank you for your suggestion. Yes, vine weevils are a blinking pain aren't they. The sun is coming out here now so I think I'll have another cup of tea before I get into my garden scruff.

Chive, your mother's patio and pond looks lovely. I will give you a small advice about fishes in the pond. I have a little bit larger pond and I have fishes inside. They looks beautiful but I regret that, because it's a lot of work with them in a small pond. I have, and your mother will also need, a filter for the water. Because of fish food and excrement water will become green and full of algae if you don't have filter. Major rule is the bigger pond is, the less maintenance.
Maybe is better put in some dwarf waterlily or some irises. She will have flowers, frogs and certainly bees and maybe dragonfly. Sorry if I bothering you with all this.

Chive I agree with Ante much better to let little frogs and maybe even newts live in the pond. I think in a really large expanse of water they can co exist quite happily but otherwise it’s the wildlife that suffers. It’s a lovely pond though I am very envious I only have a half barrel water feature.
