Good morning all. LB have you tried an anti inflammatory gel on your shoulder? I find voltarol very good. Chive let’s hope your son continues to improve it sounds to me unlike Covid I think we all forget that “ other viruses are available!”
Got a busy day planned I want to plant my sweet peas at the allotment and fiancĂ© is building a fruit cage in the hope we actually get to taste a goosegog this year! The netting supplied seems rather flimsy I have bought chicken wire instead don’t want any birds trapped and hurt.
My second oldest son is coming back from Liverpool this week he had been indoors in a small flat alone for 6 weeks and his lease is up so he will be better off here where there is a garden at least. Plus cats and family. I have to clear the spare room which is something of a dumping ground. Busy busy. Sunny here but cool wind ideal gardening weather!

Morning Chive, Ruby and Debs. Debs, I swear by Voltarol as well (other applications are available) and I have smothered my shoulder with it. Glad your son is coming back home - less of a worry for you. Enjoy your time at the allotment.

Chive ,I do hope that your son benefits from the stronger painkillers. When I came downstairs this morning my breakfast was ready for me on a tray . OH is rallying thank you .Debs shunting belongings around  is quite a job ,don’t overdo it.

Morning - another sunny day😎 (please let it rain overnight before too long!).

LB - rest that shoulder. Shoulder pain is horrid - seems to 'catch' at the smallest job. Hope it eases soon.

Chive - fingers crossed your son starts to feel better soon.

Rubee - keep looking after yourself and OH🙂

A couple of hours of unmentionables this morning then I may go and weed the patio if the wind is not too cold. Cutting the grass would warm me up - always jobs to do aren't there.

Yesterday we arranged for the hire of a cherry picker so OH can scrub the lichen and muck off the house render prior to us having the windows done later in the year. No problem getting the picker but they're struggling a bit with deliveries. May arrive this afternoon - perhaps tomorrow.

It's a much safer way of doing this biennial job than OH balancing at the top of a ladder with a bucket of bleach and a scrubbing brush. Makes it much quicker as well because he's not constantly up and down the ladder moving it / fetching the hose etc etc.

Plus he's a chap - and chaps quite like playing with big machinery.....

Hazel ,I hope all goes well with the concreting .When I was much younger I put a concrete base down for the small terrace wall ,never done it before .I mixed the concrete with a shovel ,built the wall with rocks found in the garden .The houses were built on arable land ,there were lots of rocks just under the surface .The wall and the small terrace are still standing, which wouldn’t have been the case if our friend who is an architect hadn’t instructed me on how to start the foundation .I was very grateful to him .The whole terrace and wall would have failed after heavy rain .

LB Piroxicam is very good for aching muscles and is available on prescription.  Sometimes I’ve been hardly able to move and the gel has really made a difference.  Hazel it’s good your father was a builder and has passed on his knowledge in laying foundations.  Topbird enjoy using the cherry picker.  It’s a sunny day with a fresh breeze.

Afties all. T'Bird, I am fascinated about the cherry picker. I only know of one type - one with a platform that rises. Are they controlled from the platform your OH stands on or how does he get it to move about? Just curious. Ruby, POTUS needs a wall builder. How are you fixed? It could take you a bit of time as its a border! Thanks for the tip Rosie.
I decided that I would start my car up as it has been sitting for 4 weeks doing nothing. It is dead. I assume that the battery is flat as a fluke. Even if I wanted to go out to 'sco, I can't. Now I feel truly isolated. Grrrrr.
