I was parked up yesterday beside a fairly recently ploughed field a a gust of wind moved a cloud of " dust " off it.
The sun and wind we've had have certainly been desiccating.
    Devon.

Yep ... and if it’s like that down on wet Devon clay you can imagine what it’s like on the light lands of coastal East Anglia and the Brecks where much of the country’s root veg are grown.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Morning all/afties Pat if you're there
Not sure how nice it'll be here today. Rain overnight and still windy. Lots of dark clouds.
I hope gay abandon is self isolating @Hostafan1.
Madge was saying that everyone can be proud of getting through this, when we do. No - she's wrong. Those hoarders, and the ones ignoring advice to stay at home, have done nothing to help others.
They should be forced to watch those NHS workers on the news this morning.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I have no more interest in what Madge says  than she has in what I say.
The Vera Lynn line was vomit inducing

I didn't watch it @Hostafan1, I only saw a couple of bits on the news.
Funny you saying Vera Lynn. I half expected them to trot the old dear out when she said the 'we''ll meet again' line!
And don't start me on that stupid cow up here.

Morning all.  Apparently Boris has been in hospital overnight for tests. Do hope he and everybody else in the same boat will be okay.
Lovely sunny morning here, but we have had some rain by the look of it which is good.
Housework will be abandoned again in favour of gardening - got to get the veg beds ready!

I wonder which of Madge's many "homes" her family are sticking to?
    Devon.

They have plenty to choose from @Hostafan1.
I love how their 'lodge' at the foot of Lochnagar is described as a cottage. You should see it. I could fit my house into it about four times.  :D

i disagree (re the Queen) - I thought she gave a great speech 😀. Good job we’re all different or life would be dull 😉

Had a busy weekend getting our new fence up.  Our builders were meant to do it, but lockdown got in the way, so we saved a few pennies too 👍🏻.  And my fruit trees are now safe from bambis, who had started bark stripping 🤬

We’ve had a bit of rain too, but its passed now.  Having dug ten 2 foot deep fence post holes, I can confirm that there is plenty of moisture an inch or so down 😀.  And plenty of rocks too 🙄.

Back to the weeding today.  When you get up close and personal, there’s lots out there getting ready to romp away.  My geums are almost in flower, and the pasque flowers have obviously been paying attention to the calendar 📅👒🐰🐣

Hi folks. I’m new to the forum but I think I might be a regular asking for help and advice!

(Ad an aside: I thought it was great that the Queen gave that speech yesterday. Exactly what a leader needs to do in uncertain times like these)

I think my cries for help will be mainly, but not limited to greenhouse gardening.

I’m almost finished putting up the greenhouse I bought off my neighbour recently. Dismantled and erected all by myself!

Cleaning glass and fitting it today so I will be back soon!
