HELLO FORKERS - April 2020 🐣

It’s April and time for a new thread to chat about this and that ... our gardens and our friendships have never been as important as they are right now ... 😊  🌷 šŸ¤—Ā

    Done!Ā
This new time makes it a bit easier for me to chat. I think we change on Saturday, and then it’ll only be 9 hours instead of 10.Ā
Hot sun today and washing on the line. Rain expected tomorrow, so I’d better make sure it’s all in before dark. 😳

Is still dark here @Pat E, but the dawn chorus has started and the blackbirds are singing so beautifully šŸŽ¶ Ā

I’ve had the tv on ABC all day, so whenever I wander into the room I hear up to date stuff. It’s being worth hearing.Ā

  • Morning all,Ā  :)

Beautiful morning here. I am beginning to think my garden birds have got insomnia, at 3am this morning they were singing and it was dark really, very strange.

Yesterday I slowly and quietly did some cleaning jobs and got all the washing and ironing done to a conclusion. I need to train charlie to be more frugal with his clothing, I've realised this week he has a completely new outfit on everyday, possibly necessary under normal circumstances, but in the house all day, not going anywhere I am pretty sure the jeans and sweatshirts could be stretched to two days at least!Ā  ;)

I have a holiday booked in early May, it's obvious now we won't be going but it's proving tricky to get it sorted out. We want to re-book for the same time next year but the hotel won't take bookings more than 8 months in advance. If we cancel now we will lose the money because officially there is 'no reason' to cancel, if the holiday company cancel it they don't have to give a refund because it's because of government sanctions, the best thing would be if the company went bust and then we would be covered by Atol. We will have to wait a couple more weeks I think and take a view on it. All very confusing and reading the T&Cs in detail is not very promising.

Anyway, more gardening today, well hard pruning and then maybe decorating the rest of the week. There is always the laundry/dumping ground room to sort out......I am not quite that bored yet!Ā

and then there's that other bird that's never off Twitter - Amanda Holden...
What a stupid tart she is.
    Happy AprilĀ  :D
I don't have a white rabbit, but maybe he'll do..

Wait till he's a teenager @Dordogne Damsel, he'll be quite happy lying around in bed all day in his PJsĀ  ;)
Sorry - morning all/afties Pat - hope you two are doing fine.
We have a robin that sings at night quite often. Used to drive youngest mad.Ā
The girls' Dad is getting us some supplies today so that saves me getting the neighbour to do it. I'd have been getting to the point of conjuring up a meal out of porridge, tuna, carrots and birdseed. Not sure the girls would have enjoyed that as much as their chippy the other nightĀ  :D
Been wet overnight, so that saves me watering. Bit of watery sun now though.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Morning all.Ā
Slept like a log last night.
I can procrastinate no longer. I have to tackle the weedy strip by the edge of the pond.Ā
It's gonna be muddy and claggy and NOT fun. I've been putting it off for 2 years. What do I do with lots of self seeded Gunneras?
    Devon.

Ooo - is that me in the Hello Forkers Banner  🐣🐣🐣. Ā You picked one of my better baby pics šŸ˜‰

SM this morning. Ā First time I will have been to a big one since all this started - have been able to get most things in the local mini- versions. Ā Will take something to read in case I get caught in a queue to get in.

Beautiful sunny day yesterday - did some weeding, followed by Pilates in the garden. Ā Hoping to get out there again later today. Ā

    Hope everyone is bearing up.

@chicky .... thought we should see a bit more of youĀ  ;) it being 'your' time of year so to speakĀ  :)

@Hostafan1 :) gunneras ... if you don't want 'em pot 'em up and put 'em on Freecycle and leave 'em at the end of your driveway ........... there'll be loads of grockles around at the moment wanting one.

It's a dull overcast day today ... but it will be brightened by the pasties I'm going to make for supperĀ  :)

OH is happy because he's discovered the name of a piece of music that he heard years ago and has been haunting him ever sinceĀ  Ā 'April' by John Ireland ........... I've got some music by John Ireland but not that .

Have just had an email from Norwich Playhouse ... unsurprisingly the John Shuttleworth performance we had tickets for this month ...Ā John's BackĀ has been cancelled ... it's been rescheduled for September ...... I wonder if it'll happen ..........Ā  :/
