Morning all/afties Pat - have you remembered what you wanted to say yet?
Huge relief for you @chicky. Fairy dust on it's way .... Great that you'll soon have your greenhouse to play in too Cloudy here today, but some watery sun is trying hard. Just a nice breeze too, so perfect for me. There's been moorland fires up here recently - unheard of at this time of year. I could see the one across on the Kilpatrick hills [other side of Glasgow] on Tuesday morning when I was out. They've managed to put it out though. Usually coping with snow melt and saturated ground at this time of year. I can't remember it ever being so dry here, for so long, in April.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all, Glad to hear that Chicklet is home. Lovely day again. Had some begonia plants delivered from Suttons. Two were completely broken off, must seek out a new supplier for next year, still waiting for the white ones. Not a lover of the tiny bedding ones but these are the bigger ones that do well in a couple of containers I have in the shade. Apart from potting these up will try and get the lawns done today. No other plans. Hubby has gone out to get the rest of my prescription and get a bit of shopping.
Hi everyone just caught up again. Great news @chicky hope chicklet makes good progress now. We did SM shop yesterday, same as before went in separately but then did our usual. Have enough for at least 2 weeks again. Been doing boring things like re-newing car insurance etc. Still fighting with Imagine cruising to get our holiday money refunded its all very well the man from Which saying they are acting illegally but if they say they will refund (eventually) the CC co & insurance say they can't help. Really concerned they may go bust before we get anything. We would have been coming home yesterday. @AuntyRach - I have heard Hotel Chocolat are offering 50% discount to NHS workers might be worth treating yourself next time you have a day off
Hello everyone. Been out to do the weekly SM raid and a wee raid on the garden shop beforehand. I have the tarragon plants wanted as mine seem to have died this winter, plus some fresh parsley plants, a spaghetti squash, 2 black cherry tomatoes and a tray of leeks to start me off while I wait for my seedlings to grow. Got everything I wanted at the SM except wholemeal flour. We'll just have to have organic white dumplings with our veggie stew.
Great news @chicky. So pleased chicklet is home. Pics of the g'house please.
@D0rdogne_Damsel - veggies are no harder than ornamentals so take sensible precautions. Use netting to protect brassicas; wildlife friendly pellets for slugs and snails plus torchlight picking sorties; put some bird feeders nearby and the adult birds will Hoover up caterpillars and greenfly for their babies. Watch the watering to protect plants form mildew and drought.

Home from the coal face. Customer " If I offered you £20 , could you get me a slot?" Me " Madam , if you offered me £50 i still couldn't get you a slot. If I could get you a slot, I'd do it gladly , with no money changing hands. " I've never been offered a bribe before. Glorious day, just waiting for Sainsbury's then I'm off to hit the sun bed for the rest of the afternoon.
Funny you saying about the time, Hubby got into our county council site to sign up for the garden waste this year, it showed an hour BEFORE he actually did it, weird.

Sounds as though things are looking up in the @chicky household. I hope chicklet's pain fades away soon.
Sky is blue. Weeding to do and the summer house windows are filthy. OH likes to sit in there when it's windy. Wind has dropped this morning.
🥳 🍾 🎈
Big hugs for @chicky and love to all your family. xx
