    PM for you.
    Devon.
  • Good morning.  :)

Lovely cake, lovely poppies. :)  I am getting withdrawal symptoms from not baking, just a few weeks ago I was making two or three a day, and moaning I didn't have time....now all the time and no customers. The freezers are full too so no space to get ahead. Unfortunately my two monthly orders of bacon and sausage and bread from the UK arrived a couple of days before we were forced to close so the freezers are stuffed full of those. I am slowly eating my way through, Charlie is having a bacon sandwich for lunch everyday.

I rescued some geraniums from storage last night and planted them up, see how they get on. Took more pictures of my lonely bulbs, such a shame no-one can see them, or smell them, they are divine. Next year hopefully, fingers crossed.

I've had a letter from the planning department regarding my decking, they want more information, I am within sight of the cathedral and they are very fussy about what gets built. I have been assured it will be ok, but I wasn't expecting any queries, we'll see. I can't get the materials or a builder just yet anyway....I might proceed with gravelling the lower garden, they are still delivering gravel, feel the need to be doing something!

It is tricky sitting here twiddling my thumbs when you know some people out there are absolutely over-worked and struggling. I know I am very lucky to be here in a tiny bit of paradise sitting this awful thing out. The world just doesn't seem fair at the moment.

Morning @D0rdogne_Damsel. Nice to see spring emerging though  :)
Hope you get the go ahead for your deck. IT's the waiting and the uncertainty though.
The world often seems unfair. The trick is to navigate through it. You understand that only too well  ;)
I've just realised my cake posted twice. The first pic didn't seem to work ,so I redid it.
Twice as much cake - what's not to like?

    Morning all

I was out clapping for key workers last night.  Quite a few of my neighbours were out joining in. It was such a wonderful atmosphere for a few minutes in such awful times. Afterwards, I had to collect my other half from work. (we are both key workers) Because I was out clapping, I was late 🤣🤣 he had a face on until I told him that i had been clapping and that he tea would be ready within minutes of getting home.

Got to go to work today, just for a few hours then off for the weekend. I am hoping that it is fine so I can get out in the garden.  A weekend off is normally a cue for rain clouds and storms arriving 😥😥😥

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
It does sound as if you have your own little island of calm @D0rdogne_Damsel 🏝
Glad little one is doing well @Hostafan1 ... funny old times for new parents tho ... bless them.
I woke in the night and found the street lights full on. They’re usually off at night except for the ‘spine’ road which runs along the bottom of the rise ... there was a chap in a cherry picker ‘doing stuff’ to them yesterday ... I hope that them being on all night was a glitch. I shall investigate ...🧐

Nope ... life’s not fair @Fairygirl  🙄 ... as I kept telling my lot as they were growing up ... it’s not what life does to you ... it’s how you deal with it that matters. 👍

And some of us have more to deal with than others @Dovefromabove, but even when we think it's never going to get better, it often does.  :)
We had lots of people clapping last night too @PurpleRose. I looked out last week and it was quiet, and I didn't want to look like a t*t, clapping by myself, so I clapped indoors and just looked like one inside, instead  :D

I felt exactly the same @Fairygirl 🤣🤣 I kept looking out of the window checking to see if people were out just before 8. Next minute I heard lots of cheering so I dashed out to join in. Everyone must have all gone out right at the last minute.

Same here ... 7:59 silence ... 8:00 clapping, saucepan lids clashing and fireworks going off ... we live near the hospital ... lots of NHS families around here as well as other key workers.
I’m thinking at the moment of former colleagues in children’s social work supporting the families of children with severe physical and learning disabilities and life limiting conditions ... they can’t work from home ... they’re frontline workers too ... but the schools are closed and the respite resources desperately needed by the families they work with are unable to function ... grim 😞

I was glad they included all the other key workers in last night's event. There are so many thousands of people playing a vital role.  :)
I watched the item on the news earlier, from Tesco. The delivery drivers were mentioning doing double and triple shifts to keep stocks in store. I wonder how many of the whining moaners complaining about not getting a million loo rolls were watching? Perhaps some of them could have got off their a*ses and volunteered to help, instead of complaining...
