In all fairness, Boris has four childrenĀ by his last wife and they were married for 25 years. I think he hasĀ one other child and now this new one. I would imagine he is supporting them all financially.

His private life is his private life and doesn't affect how he runs the country. I realise that some (most?) of you will not agree with me judging by past posts but hey ho.

It's all about morals and standards isn't it @Lizzie27 and if he falls down in his private life he's likely to be imperfect in political and public life and PMs and senior public and government and business people whose behaviour and decisions affect so many people have to have integrity IMHO.

Where did you find that nectaroscordum @D0rdogne_Damsel? I searched for it in France with no luck. I planted it last autumn in our Norfolk cottage and it's in bud now.

I actually made a cake this afternoon, first one I've made here, pineapple upside down cake. I found a tin of pineapple chunks in the larder and a small bag of flour that I bought before the lockdown. We had it for pud with Elmlea cream. Elmlea is a recent discovery, amazing that something that isn't cream can taste so like cream and has such a long sell by date.

I found some last autumn @Busy-Lizzie.Ā  Ā I use Ma Campagne, Magasin Vert and Gamm Vert and sometimes Villaverde but they're expensive.Ā  Not the kind of bulb I find in France Rurale.Ā Ā

Has to be proper cream for me.

hi everyone. Wheee! We’ve got rain. 5 mm so far, but no complaints here. Every little bit helps. Ā  I took some photos out the back a couple of days ago which shows how dry it is.Ā

    In his own words

Boris JohnsonĀ described the children of single mothers as ā€œill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimateā€ in a newly unearthed article which Labour has claimed shows the prime minister’s ā€œdark-ageā€ attitudes towards women.

In a column written forĀ The Spectator, the Tory leader said it wasĀ ā€œoutrageous that married couples should pay for ā€˜the single mothers’ desire to procreate independently of menā€.

And he suggested it was ā€œfeebleā€ for a man to be unable or unwilling to ā€œtake control of his womanā€, arguingĀ Britain needed to ā€œrestore women’s desire to be marriedā€.

    Devon.
  • Morning allĀ  :)

Who would want to be a politician? No one with any sense, maybe that's the problem....

Really raining today.Ā  :/ I think I've pulled a muscle though so not sure about decorating. Funnily enough it hurts much more when lying or sitting down, maybe stretching up to paint might help...

I found a big clump of theĀ Nectaroscordum siculum (thank -you @Hostafan1, bit of a mouthful) at the far end of the garden, I certainly don't remember planting them or even seeing them tbh, 3/4 years of neglect have obviously done them a world of good.Ā  There is a whole drift of Alliums too that have come up beautifully. Their bit of flowerbed is also going to become grass so I will make sure I 'rescue' them after they've finished flowering. Their colour matches my terrace plan perfectly at CdeG.Ā Ā

I do hope there is better news of poorly people. @Yviestevie, I completely understand your lack of drive, I feel exactly the same way, I think it's the feeling of helplessness and lack of control over the situation. All very difficult. Fingers crossed for a better day for everyone, despite the rain.Ā
