Sown more seeds today , leeks, parsley, Marigolds and Rudbeckia. Trying to prune a particularly tricky shrub too, trying not to be too mercenary but beginning to think it's the only hope. Trawling internet to seek advice.Â
Had a beef in Guinness slow cooked stew for dinner, absolutely delicious, perfect comfort food. Planning a little herb bed now for next to the kitchen door easy access, struggle with basil every year but chives, mint, parsley and rosemary seem to be ok. Any other suggestions?Â

Sorry to hear about the Chicky family problems, hope things can get sorted soon.
After barely 5-6hrs sleep, donât ask but I could have cheerfully murdered someone about midnight last night, I was up, had ordered a Tesco delivery whilst eating my porridge & in our Morrisonâs before 7.30am! Bliss. Quiet, well stocked, no hassle. Ok no flour of any variety, unlike last week, but everything else ok.
Got home & a parcel for OH arrived from daughter...Doves Farm assorted flours & yeast! An early Fatherâs Day pressie. Heâs well chuffed.Â
Hair cut? I've done my front bit, but the layers not possible. Mind you I found some âscrunching jellyâ lurking in a cupboard & that helps the curls return. OH, lucky so n so got his cut just before the lockdown started.Â
Good morning everyone. Sunny, cold and no wind this morning. Might push myself to go for a walk soon.Â
Der! I was going to say something else, but now itâs gone from my ageing brain. Never mind, Iâll think of it when Iâm outside doing something else.đ
Morning @Pat E. I can't sleep, bit dark to go for a walk otherwise I'd join you. đ I've been reading the RHS website about veggies. There seem to be an awful lot of pests and diseases to watch out for as well as worries about the weather, too hot, too cold, too dry etc. Not exactly encouraging. đ We'll see.Â
I really ought to try and get back to sleep.Â
Check in later. đ
