@Hostafan1. Ā How’s the level on your oil tank ... are you checking it regularly?Ā https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/heating-oil-theft-sudbury-1-6609558

I'll call your scallops, and raise you - eggs @Hostafan1.
Daughter said they had someone moaning today that the XL eggs weren't in , and she'd been told they would be, and she wasn't pleased.Ā
I don't know how they can resist punching these people in the face.
The staff member should have said the chickens were fed up pushing massive eggs out their bums and were on strike.Ā

On the plus side, she brought home some rhubarb and has made a crumble.Ā  :)
@chicky - and infestation? You can get ointment for that....

Had rather an odd experience this afternoon. This morning I went to our local Tesco to do a weekly shop, a trolley full, the checkout operator offered to pack for me so I gave her my bags. After lunch when I rechecked my receipt I realised she hadn't scanned 3 bottles of wine & bottle of cooking oil so I took them back to the shop with my receipt and tried to explain to the staff what had happened and I ought to pay up. Staff (3 of them) were absolutely gobsmacked that anybody could be honest enough to go back and just shrugged their shoulders but I insisted the goods were scanned so I could pay.
I thought it such a sad indictment of the younger generation that they should think it so weird. Or is it me that's weird!

Not just you ... I remember years ago I went to the bank to withdraw Ā£30 ... the new young teller peeled off three tenners from a Ā£100 bundle and handed me the cash. It wasn’t until I got home that I realised he’d given me the Ā£70 rather than the Ā£30! Ā  A huge difference in those days. I thought about the young man trying to balance his cash and the end of the day ... and phoned the bank and explained what had happened and insisted on authorising an additional Ā£40 deduction from my account so everyone’s books balanced.Ā

I don’t think that everyone would ā€˜confess’ to a freebie. I don’t think I’ve ever been in that position, apart from once receiving a large rather than a medium coffee (that’s about as lucky as I get) but have been ā€˜short-changed’ a few times with mixed results.Ā

Just made a little treat for pud tonight - a cherry ā€˜upside down’ cake šŸ˜‹. Serving in about half an hour if you would like some?Ā
