    Morning all

    Re garden bin collections

Ours was collected today. Normally recycling collected in the morning and then they come back late afternoon/evening for the garden waste.  Not yesterday.

Usual bin crew, two trucks. Recycling done in the first truck which then moved onto the next house, garden truck moved down and emptied and  moved onto the next house.  The man who emptied my bin then went to the next furthest house to get the bins ready for the truck getting to his house.

Let's just hope this system gets us through this situation.

It seemed to run very efficiently 😁

Well it's a lovely day today, blue skies. I have to go to work so I will not be able to enjoy the lovely spring weather until this afternoon. Hope that the weather does  not change.

    Morning all/afties Pat if you're there  :)
Our bin collection altered from last week. I don't think many folk had looked at the council info though. It makes total sense. We're having our standard bin and the green [plastic, glass, and cans] alternating each week. Food waste can go in the standard bin, which is a shame, but there's no alternative if you don't have a compost bin.
I heard that the postal workers are trying to get their daily outings reduced to three times a week because of people being off. Very difficult for all these organisations.
Been wet here again and very windy overnight - kept waking me up. The sun's coming out a bit now though.
Wonder if @Hostafan1 will have any shirty customers today. Who am I kidding, course he will.... :D

  • Advice from you forum experts please, I tried to edit my profile and add my location this morning but once I pressed save it just went to a page that said " you do not have permission to do that" and erased all I had written. Any ideas how that works?

    Morning @PurpleRose and @Dordogne Damsel 😊 ☕️ ☕️

Our bins have just been emptied ... food waste (weekly) and recycling ... the food waste is usually done by a two man team but today it’s been done by just one chap ... the recycling is usually a three man team but today just two chaps ... lots of use of hand sanitiser in evidence ... but if just those three are going to do all the bins in this area today, and presumably every area the same every day they’re going to be exhausted at the end of the week.

You might have to log out and back in @Dordogne Damsel. It seems to be the case with a few alterations. Other than that - perhaps you could contact Daniel?

@Dordogne Damsel I think the way to do it is to enter the site via the Gardeners’ World logo in white at top left of the page ... you can then go into your account and settings and make your alterations and don’t forget to Save. Then leave the site and go back in the usual way.
     Hope that works 😊

We had our blue bin (paper, cardboard, tins, plastic bottles) and our green box (glass) emptied yesterday - both lorries together, with a single crew. It looked very efficient.  No green bin (garden waste) which is normally the same day as the recycling.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
