The plant is a native. It simply appears on the hill behind the house. Poor soil, sun or shade doesn’t seem to matter. Doesn’t get water from me.

If you want to look it up, look under both Parahebe and Derwentia. I can’t remember when they changed the name and my reference book is dated 1987.

Our seasons are obviously upside down since it is now autumn, not spring. 🙄 Glad you like it.

I had Parahebes in my garden round the corner. Lovely little plants. I always wonder why they aren't more popular here in the UK.
Definitely called Parahebe then, here anyway. It would have been at least 20 years ago  :)

@Dovefromabove- mine had morning sun mostly, but more in summer. Raised bed - due to our conditions.
I think they'd do well for you.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Morning all

Well. Did loads of weeding yesterday and cleared under the hedge which runs the full length of my garden. I am aching this morning 🤣🤣🤣 i did not go for my one allowed walk yesterday as I took the gardening as exercise and of course I got plenty of fresh air. Saying that I have only had 2 walks since this happened one was to the main road and back and the other was to drop something through my friends door. It was so funny ringing the bell and running up her garden path to get lots of distance between us so i could say hello. I felt like a kid again playing knock a door run 🤣🤣

It is times like this that the garden is such a sanctuary. I have found that my garden jobs keep my mind away from the present and its great exercise. Even just to sit out with a cuppa gets us out of the four walls and into the fresh air.

Those are really pretty flowers @Pat E the colour of them is beautiful.  I have also been looking for Jupiter. I cannot find it. Probably looking in the wrong part of the sky 😂😂

@Yviestevie I am so sorry to hear such sad news. My thoughts are with your family

@PurpleRose ... Pat is in Australia ... not sure if we can see Jupiter at the same time of year as her (I'm not brilliant at the night sky so I might be wrong)   @Lyn knows about these things ...... where are you Lyn ?

I went out to see the space station passing a few nights ago.  It was cloudy.  tried again when the skies were clear and the station had gone but Venus is exceptionally bright at the mo, even with the moon on show.  Northern hemisphere of course.

Blue skies and sun again and very cold wind so pottering indoors this morning but will get out this afternoon for some fresh air.  Have decided to set up a potting bench area in the party barn so that needs a clear and tidy and a sweep first.  Have cleaned my wee windowsill propagator tray too so I can sow courgettes and more chilies.  No sign of life yet n the toms and chilies I sowed nearly 2 weeks ago so maybe more of those too.

My farmer neighbours have sent us a warning about how the Apocalypse will happen when the confinement period is over and everyone rushes out to hug and kiss and party and those still carrying the virus infect everyone again.   There's optimism for you.

We're starting week 4 on Tuesday and i can't see it being over before early May - after the long May Day weekend.

Patience everyone.  Stay safe and be kind to yourselves and each other.

I know there is a planet we can see at moment or was it last week? A friend of mine was telling me about it. Not too good with things like that so when I heard Jupiter I was sure it was that one 🤣🤣

    Afternoon all.
Just in for a coffee and to put some more washing on.
It’s pretty windy here but the sun is out and there is plenty to get on with.
I hope you are all well.
