This is my second week, of doing my "normal" routine stuff, its taken a while, I kind of get on with what I would be doing, and try to forget for a while about the covid, only watching stuff about it once a day. At least the weather is good, some of the water butts are full, we have a garden to work on, a couple of parks nearby and the South Downs.
@Busy-Lizzie residents have been staying in their own rooms for quite a while now so she will not be in direct contact with anyone infected, but of course the main problem is the staff having to go room to room.
I've just been outside watering the pots and the greenhouse plants. Everything was so dry because of the wind. Have had to put gloves on in the house as the combination of cold wind and cold water has really set my arthritis off. Having a nice hot cuppa now. We have a builder coming tomorrow to repoint the corner of the house as we have a problem with damp. Its only a small section but will need scaffolding as its over the conservatory. Needless to say social distancing will be observed at all times
I have just realised, this time last year, I was also isolated at home, I had been diagnosed with Tendonitus, and tendon sheath damage, couldnt use my hands, had spika splints, left was worst, yes, I am left handed, I couldnt do anything, no, gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, just sat in pain, resting the affected areas, for a couple of months.couldnt even hold a book,
Grass all cut again. One more notch down in height. The district nurse has been round and weighed Grandson and he's putting on weight and a lot more settled .
The "new" car (well it's only 7 this year) went for service & MOT today. It had a service agreement when new but we have returned to our trusted independent now. It was a bit of a shock how much needed doing. I had suspected the Franchise lot had not been doing all they should but had no proof. Spent most time in between potting up & pricking on things in the greenhouse out of that cold north wind. Greenhouse & cold frame now full so will need to get some more things out to plots before I can do any more.
Lots of good news on here, @Hostafan1 re grandchild & @chicky... I had appendix out a while ago and doctor's strict instructions were not to vacuum for about 6 weeks. haha.
Desperately trying to find solace in the garden, working so hard on it, Charlie has planted stuff in his little veggie 'quad', cloches are out tonight to protect his babies, he has redesigned his plan too, all very enthusing, however, a bit of a low day as I am struggling to see an end to this in terms of owning a restaurant. Just can't seem to see an end in sight, how do we ever get back to normal? Of course 1000's of people are in a far worse position than me, I know that, but my 'normal' seems to be gone forever....
Ever onwards though, thank goodness for the joy of gardening.
Hugs to everyone, gosh how we need them.

Until there's a successful vaccine freely available to us all "normal" has gone for all of us @D0rdogne_Damsel. At least we are fortunate on here to have our gardens to get us outside and keep us busy doing something positive, creative and life-affirming and we have each other for support.

Morning all/afties Pat if you're about Another touch of frost here through the night, but already gone in most bits. Sunny, and more windy stuff to come, so good for the washing. Good news for the little 'un @Hostafan1. I'd echo what @Obelixx says @D0rdogne_Damsel. We have to focus on each day as it comes. I know it's easy for us to say that if we don't have a business that's suffering, but hopefully, all your hard work will be worth it again as things improve. People will love the idea of going for coffee and cakes, and sitting in your lovely terrace under that new sunshade. More grafting for me today, creating a small, secondary pond for the water lily the girls gave me a few years ago. It was outgrowing my Dad's big pot. Never simple - large lump of concrete kerb...just where I want it to go. Of course, no timber suitable to make it raised, to match other area, so I did a 'Great Escape', and took a plank off the fence. It won't even be seen [double sided fence] and it means I can get it done, apart from the coping, and get the lily into it's new home. I don't think taking the slats out of the girls' beds to do it would have been appreciated...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Cloudy and breezy. Hoping the sun will be out later.
