@PurpleRose I enjoy that morning amble seeing whats changed overnight too 👍🏻 And street bingo sounds great fun 😀. Good on the souls who were enterprising enough to organise it - will have created lots of smiles 😀😀😀.
SM run for me today. I have enough Archers episodes to listen to to get me through the 30-60 minutes queuing.....and its not raining so hurrah 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. In fact its beautiful blue sky weather again. Last time I looked there was a bit of rain in the forecast for the end of the week .....think we need a bit.
The garden I volunteer in is going to be on GW this Friday .....cameras went in before lockdown, so everyone can relax that no rules were broken 😅😇. Hope it looks as beautiful on the screen as it does in real life 🤞🏻
Oh lovely Chicky! I look forward to seeing it! Purplerose I like the sound of your neighbourhood! Sounds community minded. You just don't get that in large towns and cities. Which is why I crested a little piece of the countryside in my garden and have a tall gate securing it! It's always been my salivation, now more than ever!!
Morning everyone. Totally bushed from work yesterday - ended up staying an extra 3 hours. I’m in again later today. It looks lovely outside so I will make sure I get some cuppas in the fresh air. My Apple blossom is just coming out, which is a highlight in my garden that I look forward too each year. Have a good day all.
Good morning auntyrach know what you mean about apple blossom, I planted an apple tree to mark my Grandpa's passing. It always makes me smile when grandpa's in bloom! I hope your day at work isn't too stressful and exhausting! Make sure you get those cuppas!!
I'm not even in the same country, but eternally grateful to you none the less for all you're doing, @AuntyRach. You and thousands of others, of course. Hope you can get some R&R before you're in again...
I've just rediscovered the delights of going round the garden in my dressing gown... I've been up since 7, but pottering about, eating breakfast and making a shopping list for the lovely Ger to deliver, before having my shower and getting dressed. At our former house, the door opened directly on to the road, which I needed to cross before going down the steps to the garden, so I never went out until decently clothed. This morning I've opened the seedling house (it was frosty overnight but now rapidly warming up), admired the daffodils and made a note to photograph the blackthorn blossom against the blue sky.
It sounds as if @Hostafan1 gets plenty of exercise just moving hostas from the tunnel to their new home. Plenty of people jogging and cycling round here, but the lake is closed for sailing, fishing etc - apparently to stop people driving there on a fine day to take out their beloved motor cruiser. Social distancing shouldn't be a problem, but the aim here is to keep everyone within 2km of home except for essential shopping/medical trips.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hi @WonkyWomble - I've just been reading an article where they're suggesting people confront neighbours about behaviour instead of phoning the police. Yeah - like nothing bad's gonna happen there then....
Maybe if people receive more than one police warning they shouldn't be eligible for the 80% of their wages to be paid by the taxpayer or benefits? That might concentrate a mind or two

Morning all, a beautiful day again here. Have had a stroll round the garden with a cuppa seeing what else has popped up.
We see a few strollers down the street but no great increase in foot traffic. It's much quieter than normal as we live near two schools and it's lovely not having the school traffic.
Had a call this morning from the hospital to say they had reviewed my hand xrays and that I did have severe arthritis at the base of my right thumb. I think I knew that. They are going to do some steroid injections when things become a bit more normal. Also confirmed the trigger finger on my left hand. Again, can't do anything at the moment so advised to keep applying ibruprofen gel until they can take a look at it. I wasn't expecting any contact from them at all.
Hubby has gone to the SM to try and get some fresh veg, salad and bread. We have most other things.
I'm getting more and more worried about mum in the care home, doesn't seem to be any problems but it's awful when you can't see for youself.
I don't understand why should anybody mind if they see strangers walking down 'their' road. As long as they keep their distance, that's fine by me. We're fortunate that we live on a beautiful scenic lane but there are big built up estates near us and it's good to see lots of people out walking. I've never said hello to so many people before, it's great! I've left piles of old garden magazines out at the end of our drive for people to help themselves if they want - it's helping me to get rid of them and helping others to hopefully get interested in gardening.
I don't have a problem with it either @Lizzie27, but not when they're strolling along a narrow road and their small children on bikes are in the middle of it. That's plain stupid. Heaven help them if any of the boy racers appear - which they still do, because they don't care about anyone else. It's always been a problem here - motorbikes and cars. It's a road only just wide enough for two cars, and at several points, it's narrower.
Anyway, the sun has come out [sort of] at last here, and it's reached double figures, so I might get something done after I take daughter to work. I wish the buses would get their routes back on, but it's a Catch22 problem for them too - not enough customers, so fewer buses on.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Very few walkers seen going past here and no cyclists apart from the first Wednesday. OH says he saw more walkers than usual in the lanes on Sunday and most he didn't recognise.

It has to be the police's job.
