Aye - get that on the other thread @Allotment Boy I think part of the problem is that some areas struggle more than others, so services will alter accordingly. Classic example of jobs being contracted out too. Cheapest option usually, and folk are stuck with what the council pays for. I wonder how many of those councillors will still have all their perks tho' eh? It does seem that many idiots are seeing the quiet roads as an opportunity @Obelixx. The problem arises when they involve someone like you, who is being careful about their journey...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Wonder if @Hostafan1 will have any shirty customers today. Who am I kidding, course he will....
they were all delightful, even the one which I couldn't find, ( not helped by them putting the wrong phone number on their contact details ) I even had a lovely drive up to Coombe Martin and stopped in a car park overlooking the most stunning seascape ( customer just put the village name , no house name ) gotta love folk eh?
Glad you had a good day @Hostafan1 It's blowin' a hooley here, and none too warm, so I'm doing faffy jobs indoors, apart from picking a few daffs and a little random tulip that was in a pot where it shouldn't have been. Cheeky little devil. They smell really nice too.

Hi folks, Had a great time last night, it was son in laws birthday and his brother had organised an online quiz using Zoom and Kahoot. Secondborn gave me instructions on how to download them and to my suprise it worked. His mum and dad in the Lake District took part as did his brother in London. It was good fun and we had a few drinks of wine to help the brain cells work.
Been in the garden this morning, I've moved a rhododendron out of a half barrel into the new bed, planted a couple of sambucus black tower and sorted out a few perennials that needed moving or planting. All in all a good mornings work. I've had some self watering trays delivered so I can get on potting up more seedlings. Might wait till tomorrow.
Been at work this morning. It went quite fast. We are on reduced hours due to the current situation. I think it will be a shock going back to normal hours once we get through to the other side. I have quickly got used to much shorter hours 🤣🤣
It has been nice having a little catch up over the past few pages since I posted earlier this morning.
Weekly shop done. No loons on the road and a lot more people wearing masks in the SM. Still a good choice of everything I need except that the cat food our pair like is getting low as are pasta, rice, flour and dried yeast and organic eggs. Still found everything I needed.
It's a really pleasant drive going the long way round cos of the road closure with vineyards and hedgerow trees starting to shoot green, loads of wild blossom, blue skies, full rivers and lush green pastures. Got back to find OH, oblivious, down the garden with his strimmer and ear defenders. He'll have lot more of that to do as it seems our sit on mower started eating the new drive belt after just 20 minutes so is for the scrap heap.
No idea when we can get another but maybe there'll be a bargain to be had somewhere but the upside is he's asked me to mark out the big new bed so he has less to cut in future. 3 years I've been waiting for that!
I hope your weather's good enough for you all to get outdoors for a bit and just enjoy the quiet and the birdsong.

Glad you got your shopping @Obelixx. I've just been amending this C&C order for the 12th, yet again, as things are often 'removed' and you have to update with a replacement etc. I'm hoping I don't get to the night before and find 95% is no longer available! Amazing how easy it would be @PurpleRose. Glad I no longer have to worry about it Managed to find enough stuff to do a choc fudge icing for the cake. I shall try it later. Forgot we had no icing sugar, but oldest fairylet had bought some Royal Icing sugar a while ago, which you're supposed mix up and whisk or summat, instead of doing the proper method. It looks ok....beggars can't be choosers....

Had a surprise, daughter has been working from home but has now been furloughed (funny how that old fashioned (ex military?) word is now in popular use). Her directors and senior staff are reducing their salaries in order to pay the 20% top up! She seems okay at the moment, had volunteered for the NHS scheme early on so is waiting to hear back from them, and is doing shopping for about 4 elderly neighbours. As long as she can keep busy and not mope, I shan't worry. @Obelixx - your journey to the SM sounds very pleasant, I rather envy you. @Busy-Lizzie - you are not alone! We had breakfast in bed at 10 am, showers about 11 am and finally got out in the garden just before 12. I'm getting lazier and lazier.

You can 'make' icing sugar by putting granulated through a blender!
