Just waiting for Trevor White and the one I ordered last week from C&K now. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of a couple of cheapos from J Parker (tacked onto a summer order I made).
Where did you get Russell Pritchard, @Mr. Vine Eye? I had intended to get that inter alia from Ballyrobert, but I think they are now closed till spring.
..it's nice to see members enjoying their new found love of roses... it makes me feel good about that... the 2021 thread is going to be busy for sure..
...I got these today from Trevor White's... huge roots, multiple canes, as one expects from this top vendor... I've never had a bad one.. this is the start of my bare root season, I have more on the way - well, who doesn't, I mean you can't inhabit this thread and not buy roses.. c'mon..
L to R... R x odorata 'Bengal Crimson'... 'Mrs Reynolds Hole'... 'Hume's Blush Tea Scented China'... 'Erfurt'...
..good to see a rooted cutting on your Royal Jubilee @Mr. Vine Eye ... interesting to see how that goes from now on..
@pitter-patter ...you have a pretty garden there, I don't think I've seen it before... may I ask what edging you are using? I'm always on the look out for something new.. it's that grey edging your borders and paving... what's it made of please?..
My order from Roses Loubert (France) just arrived. Four days after dispatch, which is pretty miraculous for here. They are specialists in antique and botanical roses. I found them when searching for Excellenz von Schubert and their catalogue is truly drool-worthy. Perhaps not as beefy as @Marlorena’s 😊 but I’m pleased they are fairly well-branched, if a bit twiggy in places.
L-R: Arthur de Sansal (Damask/Portland/H. Perpetual) Mme. Antoine Mari (Tea) Excellenz Von Schubert (Polyantha)
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Marlorena Are you getting Mutabilis too or have you decided to buy Bengal Crimson in place of it? @Nollie Lovely roses too. Yes, it will be a very busy 2021 thread. Happy to see all new rose lovers inspired by this thread.
@edhelka ..yes I'm expecting Mutabilis end of the month. I lost my Bengal Crimson that I had, so this is a replacement.. I've also had Erfurt before in the past, but the other two are new.. @Nollie ..they look really good..I'm delighted you've got Mme Antoine Mari... I'm always banging on about that rose.. ... I've not ordered from Loubert before, and you're right they have a great selection of Old Roses... I might give it a whirl..
You motivated me to go out and unpack and photograph my lot from TW (It's still raining). I took the photos in the greenhouse so excuse the mess and low quality. A detail of the spinosissima. As you would expect, not a friendly thing.
