I like that idea @Omori hiding legs with gaura! Our garden lawn is being patioed etc this year and the beds being shaped round so I'll be looking for ideas to hide the many rose legs! Ive ordered some Salvia and I used nasturtium last year.

@Mr. Vine Eye, lovely photos. Which rose is the last pink one under Malvern hills?

One of my new year resolution is to take lots of outdoor rose photos and also tag them with names when i save.

@Nollie, My roses havent gone dormant at all. lots of leaves. How do you defoliate them?

Some Brexit effect news... I've just noticed that Kordes Germany are no longer shipping to UK and Lubera have stopped shipping too for the time being...  expect more to follow..

  • @newbie77 - re defoliating - I just take hold of the leaf and give a gentle pull downwards or back against itself and they usually just pop straight off cleanly and easily.

Except The Generous Gardener which really didn't want to let go of them!

I did this in February at pruning time.

@Mr. Vine Eye, thanks for listing all names. So the other pink beauty i was wondering about is TAM. It spent settling in this year as new plant. Hoping for some flowers more in next year.

Eustacia Vye is in my list to get whenever I do next order from DA. I have been regretting why I dodnt order it when i bought Gabriel Oak.

Thanks for info on defoliating. I wont have time for all plants but the ones which were affected by BS a lot, I will do to just those.
