Thanks for that @Marlorena...I've been doing a bit of digging (not literally) and I've happened upon GAP products who have a selection of arches and obelisks. They say they are hand crafted in the UK, and they have one called a Monet arch measuring 80x60x21inches for £118. If they're as good as what they make out, it doesn't sound to bad.

I thought it looked like Wild Rover but I thought WR was a shorter rose. Thanks

Does anyone know of any really good, small flowers in clusters  climbers/ramblers? I’m hoping that I might be allowed to move a paving slab at the front of the house and I’m thinking of possible roses to grow on the wall. Not too vigorous as I’d have to keep it to about half of the wall.

What I’d really like is something like a small flowered rambler but one that repeats - if such a thing exists.

Or if repeat flowering isn’t an option, then one that looks good all year because it has hips, attractive foliage - autumn colour maybe?

    Thank you in advance 😊

@Marlorena, not at all, I’m very happy for your input. Yes you are absolutely right, it would need to be further forward than my inept scrawl indicates, at the least, need some space between the arch and the hedge to wield the hedge trimmer. Planting is only possible one side as there are drainage pipes (and Leylandii roots) the other, so I would want a rambler to cover the right side and right over the top. I could balance it out with a short climber in an open-bottomed planter on the right. It would get sun on its face in the morning, be shaded by the hedge in the middle of the day (no bad thing here) then get evening sun on the rear. The hedge is overdue a good chop so hopefully won’t be so dominant. A project for the future, tho, I need to track down someone who could make the arch first!

...glad you didn't mind... something to consider for the future... driving a truck through it though is not something I've ever had to think about, so that's a new one on me..

Yes there is a reason why my so-called lawn will never be perfect @Marlorena!

@peteS I have Gap traditional garden obelisks and they are really well-made and sturdy. Check the thickness of the steel sections of that particular one though, I would imagine an arch would need to be just as, if not more, sturdy than the obelisks.

20% off Agriframes discount code GAR20 running to end of April. Doesn't seem to be any caveats attached. Good for arches, plant supports etc.

15% off Sarah Raven - same time period - GILSCSP21

@Marlorena Maybe 15ft or a bit more actually, for winding and zigzagging.

@Mr. Vine Eye I am very happy with my 'Super Excelsa' (but I have it as a standard), although it is not a colour I would want with red bricks. I am not sure if 'Super Dorothy' is similarly good.
The Skyliner series would probably work for you.

@Mr. vine Eye I have Blush Noisette as a climber on a pergola post. It starts to flower a little later than some others in my garden but still has some buds on it now and generally flowers well until early November. It's also pretty well evergreen until given a hair cut.
The flowers are in clusters of pale pink fading to white. It seems to be fairly blackspot resistant too.
