Photo of a really good continuous flowering climbing rose, I think it’s called Dearest. Please put me right if you think it’s something else. I don’t particularly like the colour but it’s kept for it’s lovely scent and the fact that it’s a really good performer in my hot, sandy, poor soil. Valerie p.s. ( photo won’t work will try again)
First buds spotted on Royal Jubilee and Princess Alexandra of Kent and there’s colour starting to show of buds opening on Malvern Hills.
Lady Emma Hamilton seems to have had two main canes just completely die. There’s no growth from them and they’re starting to yellow. So I’ll get out there with some secateurs when I get chance.
..yes, it's a very drying wind too. I've been taking some pictures.. when your Malvern Hills opens, please remind me to ask you to take a macro shot of the centre of an open bloom, if you wouldn't mind of course... there's something I want to check which I didn't when I had this rose..
@Nollie I might have asked this before, but is that just one Munstead Wood you have there, or a group... it looks quite a wide spread for one rose.. I've got 3 and I don't think mine are as spread out as yours.. - I wish they were..
@valerieroberts .. I'm not sure your rose is Dearest at this stage... it's usually seen only as a small rose here, not the climber... please show some photos when the blooms open..
I also have a rampaging dog, who has destroyed many a plant in my garden including lots of roses... dug bare roots out of the ground and flung them afar... I knew better than to plant tulips in the border, but I did so anyway, and they've gone mostly for a burton too.. so I had some potted as replacements to fill in... this should be full of yellow tulips but only a couple remain..
Greenland tulips and Segovia narcissi, still hanging on.. I love Erysimum 'Golden Jubilee'.. it's so easy to grow and propagate.. just break a bit of stem off and plant it.. they all take.. ..the prickly 'Country Parson'... well, it's growing...
Love bright reds/oranges @Marlorena, can’t grow ordinary tulips here as I don’t get the prolonged winter chill they need (I have serious tulip envy, love them). Having some success with the little species tulips though and will be ordering lots next year.
The Munstead Wood is a group of three, never got more than a foot and a bit in height, so maybe that is why they look bigger.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Beautiful @Marlorena 💐 And that sounds just like my dog 🐕 😆 Makes things a little difficult at times but just have to roll with it, it’s his garden too.
..thank you.. yes they know it too don't they... I'm just a tenant... my dog, a greyhound, has the most amazing sense of smell.. he knows just where I've been, I only have to touch a table or chair, a leaf, and he will go there later and sniff around, on the exact same spot... ...what dog do you have @Omori ?

I think I must have overwatered my Geranium Rozanne yesterday. She's sulking and gone all floppy!

Very windy outside!
