@poppyfield64 Boscobel is my favourite rose so far, it's going to looks beautiful when those buds all open 😍

Lovely roses everyone. The last of my five new ones, a red one, is keeping me waiting, can't wait to see it fully open. The apricot one is a stunner and full of new buds already in the second flush.
Bit perturbed to see all those bamboo canes without cane toppers @Daniel Rutherford  in the middle of your beds. Having landed in A & E twice last year with garden related eye injuries, I am now doubly careful about canes.

@rock_hen thank you.  I can't wait to see them open.  I think it will have pride of place at the front of the house.

@Tack thanks.  You have some gorgeous new ones too.  They all look great.  I especially love your Blush Noisette.  Looking forward to seeing your updates on that one  :)

@Mr. Vine Eye hard to believe that perfect little bloom is so small and your Munstead Wood looks gorgeous.

Are there any roses which will thrive and flower in light shade, where no sun hits them. They'll be growing under an 8 ft wall with a bit of reflective light part of the afternoon and that would be it. I've shade loving plants growing there at the moment, and enjoying it, so that will give you an idea as to the environment they'd be growing in.

The Generous Gardener - I’ve got that in full shade - I.e. as you describe, no direct sun but open to the sky- and that’s doing very well.

@Daniel Rutherford just love your exuberant gardening style, your roses and all their companions are looking fab.

Hope your new roses do well for you @poppyfield64 and @Tack. I am also ordering some noisettes, Tack, including Blush and Mme. AC, plus Souvenir de St Anne’s and Marie Pavie, maybe a Margaret Merrill and damn the blackspot - I have an idea in gestation to create a little dappled shade seating area surrounded by white/blush roses but whether it ever gets out of my head and becomes a reality is another matter!

@Nollie Thank you. Your planned spot sounds dreamy and romantic, lovely. I'd like to see and smell it. You've reminded me I need a M Pavie. I really don't but it is a definite want.

Still no rain to speak of here, while the butts are empty I've arranged them to be a more convenient height and nearer my potted plants. If they don't fill soon I'll fill them with the hose as they are more convenient than the tap.
