We work from home and all we do is visiting open space farmers markets and walk through garden centres. But even our cafe visits or other shopping und staying for days in the same house where all had Covid, we got nothing. Also, I never had a flu, even when I was little.
I find it interesting that its still such a big issue in the UK, here it's now classified the same as a cold or flu. i.e nothing to worry about, no isolation requirement nothing. and it's been that way for many months. We never had the same panic, and do not believe the press that says Denmark locked down hard and early, it didn't yes they were a bit faster to shut shops in the first wave, but there was never any limit on how many people you could have in your house and it was a limit of 10 (possibly 6?) people outside of the house, but not the same people each time, most certainly no fines for sitting in a park! We only used masks for under 3 months in total. as they are seen as pretty much useless and possibly detrimental as people use them poorly, (reuse them, touch them etc) but believe they help so don't follow other good practices.
I had 3 shots, and promptly caught covid 2 months after the third, I would not have another shot even if it were offered, which it isn't as I am well under 50. Every single person I know has had it (tested with PCR not just thinking they have had it) some before the vaccines some after, most of us have probably had it multiple times.
And as a last thing, don't blame it on the NHS equivalent here being better than the UK it isn't the waiting times are up, nurses spent so long on strike last year the government had to step in and force them to stop.
No one ever said that the vaccinations stop you from catching Covid … what they do is they stop you from getting it as badly as would have been the case if you’d not been vaccinated.
If you’ve been vaccinated and then caught Covid, and recovered, then thank the vaccine … it did it’s job. 👍

Who is living in a climate of fear? Not me. I have had all my vaccinations and will continue to do so … I wear a mask in crowded places or if requested to do so … I take sensible precautions and get on with my life … thankfully I can do that.
Someone I know lost five relatives and close friends … that’s five people she really loved and cared about in the space of a few weeks … to Covid in the first wave in early 2020 … it looks as if she contracted it whilst abroad but was asymptomatic and spread it around as she visited them on her return. They each became ill within a couple of days of her visiting them.

They are so that if you test positive for Covid you will have access to the specialist antiviral meds that are available only to the extremely vulnerable.

@pansyface 😊 not sure who you need to contact to get them … it’s probably all in the guff that comes with the tests … what I do understand is that the antivirals being used are pretty effective if taken early … so if you feel unwell do take the test and send it off promptly. 👍

I must admit I don’t know many people who are worried about covid now. I have had 2 vaccines and won’t have more because I don’t feel it’s necessary but of course others may be in different circumstances and won’t feel the same but @Simone_in_Wiltshire is surely entitled to her own opinion.
Doctors have been wrong in the past and the long term effects of a brand new treatment are surely waiting to be discovered. I don’t think the vaccine is unsafe but I could be wrong. It’s a matter of personal choice.
A lot of powerful people made a lot of money out of covid but were not worried about it enough to stop them having parties.
I doubt we will ever get the true facts about the pandemic and I for one want to get back to normal 100% and try to put it all behind me as much as I possibly can.

I ♥ my garden.
You could have been asymptomatic and still spread it around.
