Sorry, I am only involved with NHS England, so no idea what the other UK countries are doing.
Thanks, I guessed correctly. It’s so irritating that the Uk NHS is devolved, but the news media quotes ‘government’ decisions as though they’re for all of us.

Quandary re Flu jabs. I always have this done at our GP surgery, but first available appointment is in October. I’m going to babysit school age grandsons before that, and I’ve noticed I can get an earlier jab at a local branch of Boots. Wondering whether I should book myself in for that. It’s only three days before I’m exposed to the kids and their bugs, so not sure if it’s worth the effort. Don’t like the idea of putting NHS money into the private sector instead.

If it were me, I would have it as soon as possible. Although it takes up to 14 days to be fully effective, some antibody production starts within 24 hours.

I've just had covid (second time) so will need to leave a 28 day gap between positive test and booster.

Good point, Punkdoc. Although it would be bad luck if I had a poor reaction and a sore arm while trying to wrangle the kiddies! Never have before though. No indication yet when the England covid boosters will be available.
Hope you are starting to feel a bit better now, @punkdoc

Here, for those who are not up to date with Covid boosters, they're offering flu jab in one arm and Covid in th eother which makes me wonder how people are supposed to sleep, given I'm not alone in getting a reaction to any and every jab.

That said, OH and I had Covid boosters in June so aren't due again till December and by then we will, all things being normal, have had the flu jabs.

There are no more mass vaccination hubs here and the local nurses' office don't do them - too busy - so we now go to a pharmacy in La Roche for Covid jabs, free at point of delivery.

We’re going to ask (aka tell) the GP’s surgery to send a district nurse round to administer our flu and Covid jabs at home.

You’ll be lucky, most surgeries are not doing COVID jabs.
