  • Ours aren't, but they've never done them. They didn't do many flu vaccines last year either.

I’ve had every COVID and flu jab done at the doctors surgery,  once a year they do COVID and flu in the same arm.

    Sorry, it's me again.
There is increasing concern being expressed about the new COVID variant.

Vaccines are now available for those eligible, you can book them on the NHS website. I booked this morning for Wednesday.
Please, no abusive PM's, about me being a doom monger, it is information for those that want it.

Apparently it's pretty rampant in France at the moment. Anecdotal because they don't test. We don't do it much either, though.

There are a few already in hospital here as well.  I suppose for anyone younger/healthier,  it won’t be worse that a bad attack of ordinary flu but for people with low immune system or lung diseases it could be fatal.
I had my reminder from the doctors surgery for both to be done at the beginning of September,  really must make the appointment.

We’re  hoping my son gets notified,   as the NHS said he was cured (of an incurable illness). We wonder if it’s yet filtered through the system since they’re pathetic ‘Sorry we made a mistake)

It's like flu and colds @B3, infections spike the minute everyone gets back from their hols and go back to school, college, work.

I always had my "best" colds in mid to late September after Possum went back to school.   Hardly had any since we moved here 7 years ago and no Covid or flu but we do get every jab going, are out of doors or in well-aired spaces for our social activities and don't frequent crowded places.

@Obelixx same here.  We have a lot of tourists around from every county,  so we keep clear of crowds just in case,   I’ve had a good life and all my friends and family have gone, all younger than me,  but I’m taking no chances.

Without trying to be alarmist, the mutation rate of this variant seems to be extraordinary, so there is a worry that a really nasty variant could arise.

Info welcome as always @punkdoc . I'll be checking with my parents next time I call them to make sure they've got theirs booked. They're usually pretty prompt when they get told they can have it but I'm not sure whether they'll get the message if it's only by text/email. Previously their GP surgery has phoned but I don't know whether that will happen this time.
