    Well said @star gaze lily.
We should not be saying another 3 weeks might be too much for people, the lockdown is saving lives, it is the law.
Trust me I have months more of it we are locked down until at least June. I only go get the poop because it is on an isolated farm. I have to drive around the bypass of the local town to get to it.

I meant from what I saw today a lot of people seem to be trying to get back to life as if nothing is happening. In fact the paths seemed to have more people on them than I've ever seen before. I was not condoning their actions, it was an observation.

Though reading through my post, it was patently obvious that was what I was saying.

I did expect more people to be out as even those who stocked up are running out of things.  As SM are only letting you have three of some things ( to last two weeks) till the next available slot,  either it's the local shop or travel to one to find something ( like antibacterial wipes which I've been out of for two months) I've only been out to the chemist and local shop twice in a month.
  • I dropped groceries off to my parents yesterday and there were a lot more cars on the road and people walking around than 2 weeks ago.i do worry about the mental health of everyone at home for so long.i used to swim, garden for work and sadly my dog died recently so those walks have gone.im keeping busy and not complaining! But it's getting harder and I miss walking in the woods with a dog 🐶

Even without the virus, out on a walk in the woods you expect your dog to come scampering out of the undergrowth. We still miss ours

I've just been reading this Twitter thread (by the Public Policy Editor at the Financial Times) which summarises the FT article linked. The article itself is behind a paywall, but the thread gives the main points. It reminded me of punkdoc's misgivings about the ventilator situation (much) earlier on this thread, so I thought I would post it here. A similar series of cock-ups has happened regarding the antibody tests that were so simple and would be available 'in a few days'.

I'm not a political person - can barely tell you who the politicians are, but could someone please explain this to me. Why is everyone blaming the government for the shortage of PPE items in hospitals, care homes etc when those places are either privately owned or run by hospital administrators/boards who order their own supplies of what is needed in their workplaces? I can't understand why the government is to blame when surely it is the Stock/Supply Managers in these places.
