That beach looks beautiful  @Kili would love to stroll along there by the waters edge.
Which beach is it......don't worry, I won't be going near a beach for some time yet.

Its St Ouens Bay Jersey. Also known as the five mile road not sure why as its only 3 miles long... :D
You could stroll there everyday as its nearly always empty except for when there's a big tide then all the surfers appear but, even with them there you could keep quarter mile distance between you and the next person if you wanted to

My poor mother is really distressed at the moment.  She's in her 70's and hasn't been outside the house since March and doesn't feel it's safe enough to go out unless everyone is wearing some form of face mask.  She and others feel left behind as our family gathering government has not made it mandatory to wear face coverings while indoors eg. The beaches along the Vendée coast are mostly like that @Kili - long sweeping curves, some rocky bits and clean water all backed by dunes and/or forest.   Good surfing on many and some designated for kite karting but all get narrow at high tide so, especially in August when it feels like half of France descends, they are packed like sardines.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Is Vendee along the Normandy coast. Beautiful beaches along there. I can see the French coast quite clearly from Jersey. Often nip over  and will do again once this madness is over. Used to do a bit of sailing with mates who had boats used to head for Grainville as its the shortest hop in a boat at about 14 miles.

Were lucky at that beach even in the height of summer there's plenty of space as all the tourists head to another beach known as St Brelades bay a beautiful bay but much smaller and gets packed.

We have the dunes across the road from St Ouens bay as well. I wish we were a French owned island . My heritage is Jersey French but at school we were prevented from speaking our local version of French so I'm afraid to say its long been forgotten.

We used to take the children to Brittany many years ago and our favourite beach was a côte sauvage near Belz.  We used to get quite upset if anyone was there!

I used to go to the far north of Scotland and would feel peeved if I saw a footprint never mind a person on the beach!
    In London. Keen but lazy.

My mother's the same @Mary370. She's 95 and has been choosing to self isolate since before lockdown began. She won't even let us visit. I worry that she will be too afraid to meet up with anyone for months to come.

@Kili!!The Vendée is above Charente-Maritime and below Loire Maritime on the west coast so above La Rochelle and upto Noirmoutier.  We live 20kms from La Tranche-sur-Mer, Longueville, Jard-sur-Mer and about 40kms from Les Sables d'Olonne which hosts the Vendée Globe solo round the world yacht race every 4 years.
