Thanks girls. We had a bit of a laugh at some Glaswegian terms for rude people and she was ok after that. Positive thinking goes a long wayÂ
Really hope you can get chicklet home @chicky. At least mine are 'here' and I can help them when needed. not so easy when they're thousands of miles away... Better shift. Taxi duties as youngest fairylet is doing extra hours somewhere else, and she can't park her car easily nearby, so I said I'd take her and we can have a look around for tomorrow. Don't want anything happening to her car!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Sorry to hear about your daughter’s nasty experience Fairy. Some people are SO ignorant. We’ve been seeing some really stupid things of tv lately.  I think the media has stirred up too many people who can’t handle it.Â
Big hugs for Fairylet @Fairygirl ... OH's response (as a fellow shop worker) is 'Some people are just so thick!'
On the other hand, I heard a tale yesterday of such kindness and generosity from someone who has a tough life herself ... it made me weep. There truly are angels out there
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sainsbury's was the same as Morrisons, no loo rolls, tissues, kitchen towels, tinned veg, flour, UHT milk. I've had an email from them to say that they will not be stocking meat tomorrow as they are having a big delivery of household essentials and the elderly and vulnerable will have priority first thing tomorrow. Don't know if I am elderly enough at 68.
I bought a load of wine, might as well enjoy being isolated. Others may be doing the same as shelves were quite gappy. Bought paint for the guest room.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thank you everyone. It means a lot to me. I have to say @Dovefromabove, my response was similar to your OH's, but less polite.   I can't protect her, and she's more than able in lots of ways, but I find the attitude of many people [and not just during this problem] quite horrifying. As everyone says though, it can also show how kind other people are. I hope fairylet sees the young chap again, as she can pass on my thanks to him. I walked past a young shop worker a while ago, and noticed he looked very faint and dizzy, so I stopped and asked him if he was ok. We had a wee chat, and he was fine. I wonder how many other folk just walked by. Anyway - the sun was out a minute ago and now it's snowing. Who ordered that?Â

There has been a gang in Birmingham, offering to do shopping for old folk... just give me your card and pin number. Just be careful folks.
The other side of the human race eh? Just thought I'd warn people that there's another PayPal scam email too, so be on your guard, and just forward them to the 'real' PayPal. There's also been a TV licence one. I got it a while ago and forwarded it.
It's sad that we still have people falling prey to these bottom feeders at this stage of the 21st century.Â

Hugs from me too @Fairygirl. I called about my travel insurance claim. It took about an hour to speak to someone but when we'd finished I thanked him for his patience and appreciated who busy they must be and hoped the rest of his shift wasn't too stressful. He seemed genuinely surprised and pleased. It doesn't take much does it? Why can't folk just be nice?
